• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

  • IMPORTANT! PLEASE READ!! About the Google Adsense ads being displayed

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry PAY PAL whats the stroy

I have a couple kids that live long distance and send them what they need when they need it. Its great for that, My bank is the same as theirs and I could transfer but its 5.00 and sometimes the 3% is cheaper then the 5.00 the bank charges. I could deposit but that is what I pay the 3% for not having to leave the house lol Same as when I send to my wife most of the time its because we dont wanna go to the bank lol call me lazy but 34$ on a 1700 transaction is chump change in my eyes try the taxes here in NYC theres a complaint for ya lol I know you understand NY taxes HH lol

My kids are grown now but I recall sending them some funds via Paypal several times when they were younger, and do not remember that there was any associated cost for doing so.

Well, the $34 is 2%, not 3%. I am guessing that PayPal has recently started charging for gifts (?). Maybe they got greedy, realized they are being ripped off, or something in the middle.

Ya know, I hate to sound like the lone moron (which I very well may be), but wouldn't this thread be better served in the General Business forum than the BOI?

I only ask because the original thread, started way back in March and previously buried, seemed (IMO) bogus and completely devoid of any realistic, sincere inquiry of a business/individual or an actual transaction. It's a guy who already been called out and now asking who's been ripped off by PayPal ... but not providing any info, or any other BOI worthy info or background.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the BOI intended for:

-someone or some business that likely should be avoided. Provide FACTS supporting this opinion. Proof is not needed, but will certainly help support your claim.

- someone or some business that you are recommending. Reasons are not required, but an example of your experience would be helpful.

- you are looking for information on the listed person or business. Perhaps you are considering doing business with them and would like some feedback.
- this can be information of any sort about the person or business. Not necessarily good nor bad, could be something along the line of your hearing they got in a shipment of something of interest recently. EXAMPLE: Joe Blow's Bargain Basement Bullets

OP stated back in March, see post #5, that he was good with PP ... he was just looking for anyone that had problems with PP.

Seriously ..is that not trolling?

Shouldn't this thread have been locked or moved to a more appropriate forum a long time ago?

Paypal only charges when sending gifts/personal if using credit card. If its coming directly out of bank or paypal balance no fee is taken out.

Hmmm maybe I should look into that

When people try to get out of paying the Paypal fee on a business transaction, I don't have much respect for them. This is totally different, though, this is something Paypal wants its customers to have, free.
It appears that Paypal is providing a free service for some personal payments, and if you qualify I think you should definitely look into it.

With all the money you save you could buy more reptiles! Or a membership to Fauna!! :D
