In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

... is really pisssssin me off right now. I currently have $XXXX setting in paypal due to a sale of 25 snakes that I am due to ship out on monday. I have been talking with a seller here for the last couple of days about purchasing a snake. We agreed on a price and shipping date and she sends me an invoice for payment.

HOWEVER

Paypal wont let me use my credit card on file to pay the invoice. From what I gather from their site... their stance is... you have money in your account you dont need other sources of funding.

B.S. Yeah... the money is there, but its not mine till the transaction is done. Which will be Tuesday at the earliest and Wednesday at the latest.

Here is the kicker.... In order to use my credit card (which is the only way I will make purchases online anymore) is to drain my paypal account then pay the invoice. This is the only way I will get the option for funding via other sources. This will probably add another day on getting the seller paid.

It just pisses me off that I have to put the seller thru this because paypal wont cooperate. I could have her paid right here... right now... if I could use my card associated with the account.

I need other options for payment processing because PayPal is interfeering with my business and the business of those I do business with. Any ideas?

Apparently, Google Checkout has lifted their prohibition on using their service for live animal transactions. I haven't checked them out yet, but I plan to do so (I've been increasingly disenchanted with PayPal).

You can move it, and not spend it. I do have the option of keeping my Paypal account empty, and I dont' spend it, and thus can refund any funds immediately if necessary.

*just learning how to do the 'refund' thingy.

I recently ditched Citibank because they decided they wanted to get greedy with my money. That was who my paypal was tied to. I am in the process of getting everything switched over to my new bank (which should be complete in a couple of days)... then I can transfer the money out.

I've never had to transfer money in so I didnt know how quick it was. Thats good to know...as I will transfer the funds out as soon as I get confirmed. This way I can get my seller paid quicker.

Thanks Deb

It comes out of your paypal right away, just takes a few days to show up in the bank so if you're not planning on spending it, it doesn't matter.

My understanding is he just wanted to "empty" PayPal temporarily, so that they wouldn't force him to use the money in the account because he wanted to use his credit card.

Good job!!

Not everyone thinks like this but your doing the right thing. It does suck sometimes, but it's still the right way to be....

I do it a little differently and so far I haven't had any issues with it. I have two paypal accounts. This is a hold over from when they had two different types of accounts, personal and business.
Used to if you had a personal account, you got charged no transaction fees, but you couldn't take credit cards, only payments from a paypal balance or bank account. If you had a business account you got charged the fees regardless of the funding source.
I had an account of each type. The personal account came in handy for times it was a large sale and they were paying from their bank account.

Now i use one account for business transactions, but it isn't tied to any bank account. When I receive a payment, I then send that to my other account as gift or whatever it is that has no fees. The other account is tied to my bank.
The main reason I do this is to protect myself from the potential of a bad buyer trying to make a false claim. We've all read the stories of this happening and Paypal locking ALL the funds in the account, not just the amount in dispute. I've read of some people having several thousand dollars frozen because someone disputed a $50 sale.

With the money sitting in a secondary account, I'm protected from that, but it's still immediately available if a refund for some reason is needed. I just don't send it to my bank account until the transaction is officially completed.
The added bonus is I too use my credit card almost exclusively for paypal transactions, and this helps keep my account empty so I avoid just the problem Kevin is having here.

That's very helpful actually. I just opened up a second account for my herp sales and each account is linked to a different bank account, one personal, one business. But sometimes I want to send the money from my personal/ebay account to my bank account linked to my herp paypal. lol. I didn't even think about sending myself a payment.

Shortly after I posted this thread I started the two account setup. I have sales go to my business account... and stuff I buy is sent to a personal account. I have the CC on my personal account. I dont even have the personal account tied to a bank... just the CC

No more having sellers wait for payment because paypal wants to be a pain in the tush about funding options.

Just a word of caution Pay Pal can and will lock all accounts in your name over a dispute on one account. I set up an account in my wife's name tied to a bank account we keep about $50 just to avoid this.
