In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Bad Guy pendragon_j Jonathan Hammond

Rob, the funds are sent by the buyer first, of course. And in normal situations, I think that the buyer should return the animals first. In this case, the seller misrepresented the animals he sent, and has therefore shown that he's untrustworthy in this transaction. Before I sent the small amount of leverage I had in this transaction back, I'd want to be refunded.

I just cannot wrap my mind around that someone would treat (or not treat) a smake that way. That being said I about started crying when I saw the condition of him. I have always dreamed of owning a piebald ball python...and to see my dream snake so poorly cared for...when I would have treated him like royalty...DANG! I mean, I don't like seeing ANY animal mistreated, but when you have a special liking for a particular one...You know how it is!

I cannot beleive that anyone would have thought that poor thing was fit for sale. He desperately needed a vet. That poor tail. He looked like he was in pain!

I'm not going to send the money first. Under no circumstances and I don't care how many people think I am a bad guy for it. I will give her a refund but I will not give up my little bit of leverage either. I made a compromise when I thought the deal was fair. I won't budge on this.

You don't HAVE any leverage in reality. Honestly I'm shocked that you think you have leverage at all!!!

The way I see it, Jonathan, the only thing that you've compromised is her collection with mites from who knows where. You screwed this whole transaction up, and it's on you to fix it. I know you don't like taking the risk, but you made her take the risk when you sent her inferior snakes with a mite infestation. If it had been a simple thing that someone could have overlooked, I'd say that she needs to send the snake back.

Be a grown up and send her the money, I am quite sure she will happily send those snakes back. I know I would. It's called a sign of good faith, it will go a long way towards redeeming yourself on this thread.

Chris

That's not leverage. She has leverage against you. Doing this is totally destroying YOUR reputation. And very soon you'll be on everyone's do not buy from list.

How about this.... You send her a prepaid shipping label to ship the snakes back to you & check the tracking info. When snakes are in transit, you refund the money.

If anything, you should send her either a prepaid shipping label or the money to ship, especially if you expect her to ship to you first.

And get back a box of rocks or normals instead of het or something completely off the wall. No.

You're one to have trust issues ... it's a bit hypocritical. She is not the one who sent misrepresented animals.

How about you cut them a few Postal Money orders, which are insured through the PO, (I don't think you can make them for more than 1000.00), order a FedEx label for them and both of y'all send it the same day with tracking info?

Because she has more of a right to trust you will not send the funds than you do that she will fail to send the animals, in my opinion based on how you have handled this situation.

This is an excellent idea and very fair!

I can only speak for myself, but I'd never buy from this person after seeing the condition of that snake but also the disgusting, putrid mess in the background of the photos...that alone speaks volumes..yik!

Again that is not my room, and I still won't send the money for the reptiles.

Irrelevant. You brought the animals there. That speaks volumes too.

You are every bit as deserving of that Red "X" as I thought and with each post you just prove that further.

The OP clearly needs to be more selective in that animals they purchase but you need to learn basic customer service. This is "101" stuff, Jonathan. Not budging like a kid with his arms folded and holding his breath is just making you look vindictive and foolish.

Congratulations.

Wow...What a mess. He had a couple Axanthic females I was considering buying from him, but after I saw the pictures, (nowhere near as bad as on this thread) I decided not to buy from him. The girls looked healthy, but the room did not as other people have mentioned on here.

Receiving that Pied with his tail like that is insane. It's seems like Fauna can really attack people sometimes when things go wrong and overdo it a bit, but in this scenario, everything everyone has said (minus Jonathan) is right on. He should really re-evaluate what he sells and how he does business.

After reading this thread, I for one will not look to buy anything from him at any point unless I read some really great things about him going forward.

Just my 2 cents, but it shows that when you misrepresent things and don't take care of issues properly, your "livelihood" and selling abilities can be affected. I hope everything works out for her in the end.

And I hope Jonathan gets his shit together...

Wow... I have never bred reptiles and shipped them before, but if this is what it is about, I guess I will never breed and sell. So many scammers out there just looking for easy money. It is so pathetic that people can and will actually do that to other people. Makes me sick. I hope everything works out for the OP.
