    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

OK, I just used the last of my vermiculite. Last week you guys all helped me find the deli cups and shipping boxes at all on one website, Thank You.

Most of you said that vermiculite was not found as easy. I picked up some Perlite at Home Depot, since the local show isn't for another 6 days and I've got girls that won't cross their legs that long. I have not used Perlite before. I was wondering if any one crushes it to make it fine? I do this with the vermiculite as it seems better when it's fine rather than lumpy. Any differences I should know about or any tips?

I use Perlite, I do not crush it. most garden shops carry vermiculite but it does seem some of them only have it in the spring / summer I dont know why they all seem to have Perlite. but I guess I would not know since i'm still on my very first bag of Perlite 3 years ago I had sent the wife out to get it and she came home with a monster size bag of Perlite it must have been a 50 lb bag it's not even half gone. it was a good laugh

Thanks Albey, I forgot about your site, sorry! Great information. I'm sure it will help me.

Does anyone pre-heat their medium and containers? I have done this since I started as not to put the egg into shock with a room temp medium. I keep enough deli cups with medium in the incubator ready for the clutches that are due. I've never seen this mentioned anywhere.

I have my incubation containers in the incubator marked with whos eggs will go in them as they are laid.
