    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Here are some of the court documents below.

I would like to point out Paul/Pet Center has pointed fingers at all other dealers saying we are forming some kind alliance against him. He stated here. he has not imported illegally and all this info was made up by other dealers to make him look bad. WOW is all I can say. This is all public information anyone can access. Make your own informed decision.

and? ken you import stuff so does every other company but smuggling is illegal yes it is but not in my mind import=smuggle just legally.

And? Ken, you import stuff. So does every other company. But, smuggling is illegal. Yes, it is. But, not in my mind. Import is equal to smuggling, just legally.

Saying that importing is legal smuggling is a bit like saying that all grocery shopping is legal shoplifting.

It seems that her sentiment is that the very act of importing is unethical, and that people who do it shouldn't throw stones at this guy.

I disagree, obviously.

Ken, the links you provided ask us to download documents. I'm not really comfortable doing that on a site I don't know much about. Can you give some basic specifics...has this guy actually been charged? By what regulatory body? Has a court date been set?

I guess the main reason you brought it to the BOI is the fact that he accused others in the community, so if a discussion of the legal proceedings is inappropriate in this venue, no worries. But, I think it would help to clear up whether or not there is any validity to his public claim against you guys.
 
Ken, we've actually done business (you bought from me back in 2008) and I hold you in the highest regard, but I feel that inter-dealer politics belong between dealers. I've dealt with Paul a number of times and found his service and stock to be top notch. What happens between he and other dealers doesn't affect me or other customers.

Likewise to the smuggling accusations. Smuggling is wrong, or if you don't believe that, it most certainly is illegal, but this is America, where no one is Guilty until proven so. Throwing around conjecture and rumors doesn't do anybody any good.

Again Ken, no personal disrespect to you.
 
Hey Ken,That chick is messed up she has no idea how all this stuff works and that the animals that are imported(the majority) are documented by species and the number of species being allowed to be shipped out of country of origin,you know she has no clue. I supply 4 of the largest import/export dealers here in S.Florida. I have been doing so for years and the new regulation laws are to assist our control of what comes in and what goes out, to try and ensure the welfare of the animals,which in turn is to benefit the conservation efforts to ensure the survival of said species of concern. And yes anyone that does import or purchase any animal illegally desevres what they get,period!!! Those are the kind of issues that help destroy the professional markets.For some of us this is our way of life and we do it LEGALLY!!!! Some people(Meg Witte) have no clue what they are talking about! Hey Meg let us know how long you have been involved in this kind of work or study,please.Thanx Geo!
 
I don't know if I downloaded the right thing, but I searched the 18 page document and didn't find Paul's name. If it doesn't explicitly name him, then conjecture is all this is. Even if court documents do name him, I refer back to my innocent until proven guilty statement.

My original statement to Ken to was express my disappointment in the BOI being used for grievances between dealers that have nothing to do with customers being ripped off, defrauded or mistreated in any way. I absolutely don't want to get into a debate about smuggling or Mr. Becker or anything else for that matter.

It is the second download starting on page 24.
 
The documents are exhibits in the prosecution of another not Paul. According to what is presented, It seems they nailed Paul and he started singing about all the people he did business with.
 
It's interesting, and any reasonable person can come to their own conclusions , but again, Paul wasn't convicted. As far as I know, this doesn't affect any of us directly as per my original post.

Again, I don't want to get into a whole thing here... these conversations tend to spin out of control and start arguments that will never be resolved because of simple difference of opinion. I've expressed mine and ya'll have expressed yours. I leave Ken to read my post and interpret it however he likes. I just wish there was a bit less drama in the hobby :)
 
My thread was taken way out of text. Point being if he did it and got caught,shame on him. Yes in the long run things like this will eventually affect many others!! Don't do it to make a fast buck,because when you get caught.It will cost you a whole lot more than what you got out of doing it.Some people should not post things about importing and exporting if they have no clue as to how all this works for any and all distributors.That's all I really meant! Thanx to all!
 
Pat if you go to arachnoboards link you will see more detail. I won't post it as it would be second hand news. Let's just say that the crack user usually gets a break if he snitches on the dealer.

Pat you are wrong his name and website are both in the papers. there are emails from him and Sven. I would not have posted this either if Paul had not himself tried to point fingers at the other dealers and say we were cospiring against him in some way and making up this stuff. I just posted the proof that what he said was not true and that he actually did this.
 
I'm on AB as Comatose and have been for some time, I'm aware of the situation. I just don't think it belongs on the BOI or does anything constructive.

Again, nothing against you Ken, I know you're a good guy.
 
Although it is not herp related, the two hobbies are closely tied. There are many of us who love both inverts and herps. And probably more than a few fauna members have bought from Paul. They have a right to know what kind of underhanded and illegal practices Paul was employing. It is a black eye on all of us because in the end Joe Schmoe lumps all the "creepy crawlies" in the same category. I was listening to Lex and Terry, a morning radio show that is national, when Sven was sentenced. The comments they made about have spiders was bad enough, but then they tied the smuggling of Ts to the burmese python issue in the glades. Except there term were "man eating" and "killer" pythons. I was very offended by their comments on both hobbies. This is what we are up against. Because "their", we know who they are, main agenda is to stop all of us from keeping and breeding the animals we love, wether it is a dog, cat, corn snake, burmese python, tarantulas, centipedes, or ants. They dont want us to have anything. So thanks Ken for putting this out there on the BOI.
