So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Do to the fact that Mr. Gubitz has once again put his nose where it does not belong and is attacting me (again) I am going to stay out of this thread.Unlike Mr. Gubitz I will not disrespect the webslave.The webslave warned both of us about attacting one and other and you Mr. Gubitz seem to think that you are above the law on and off this thread.I hope that this time he follows through with his warning to ban the person starting it.

Let me make a statement here.

This thread actually doesn't even belong on the BOI unless it is pertinent to some person or business being accused of some wrongdoing, legally or ethically.  This was certainly not the case initially, and I would have moved it to the General Discussion forum had I found it earlier.

There are accusations now being implied here that need some facts to back them up.  If someone is accused of being responsible for a burglary, then spit it out and say so.  That's what the BOI is for.  If not, and this is yet another Neil versus Dave pissing duel, then I have indicated the thread I started where this should be confined to.

I am busy with my own affairs and have asked someone else to help out and moderate the BOI with me.  On one hand I agree with his decision that this thread has devolved into a flame war, but on the other hand I would be inclined to fire a warning shot before closing the thread completely.  As long as new information is being posted in new messages that are at least somewhat related to the original topic of the thread, I will normally let it stand.  With that in mind, I have asked Moderator01 to review his decision to lock down this thread. I consider such a step to be rather drastic, and only as a last resort when attempts to pull the participants back into line have failed completely.

The webslave-in-training will likely have a lower tolerance level than I do from riding herd on the BOI for so long, so don't push him.  I need a break, so if it takes him banning every one of you that loves a good firefight, then maybe it's for the best.

This thread started when Dave accused Peg of trying to ruin the reputation of the "greatest show on Earth"....and came right out and accused ME of stealing that burm....

Pardon the interruption into "Thread Wars Episode II - Attack of the Drones", but to get back to the original thread for a moment; Has anyone considered the possibility that the reason for increased thefts this time of year might simply be due to the fact that there are more animals available right now?

With "baby season" in high gear, everyone has more animals now then any other time of the year. If you are going to rob someone, I would think that the criminals would want to do it when there was the most to gain. The timing of the Daytona Expo is nothing more then good judgement on Wayne Hill's part to schedule a show when lots of animals are available.

2)I never said that you stole or were selling a stolen snake or that it seems funny that you were running a ad and as soon as the story broke about Peg's you pulled the ad.

3)I HAVE answered the question that you keep posting about the 2 snakes over and over again.It anyone said that I had these animals in my posssession they are lying.

Very good point Mike.  It is probably easier to get away with more in baby season if you were to rob a pet store.  
Also, not to intentionally throw gas onto the flames, but Neil has made a good point.  What is the story on the albino boa and albino burm that Dave is selling?  Dave said he believes he already covered that, but I must have missed it, because after reading this whole thread, I don't remember ever seeing an answer to that question.  
I know about the burm that was stolen, but was an albino boa stolen as well?  I don't recall seeing a full list of what was taken other than some baby boas and a big albino burm.  
All this makes me think that Tampa is a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to open a pet store there <img src="http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

Also, as far as this war goes between Neil and Dave, I don't think it really matters who started it here, I think it really boils down to who ends up FINISHING it.  Most likely the Webslave or Moderator01.
 
Ok,I will break it down to the bare facts here,I was ask by a wholesaler it this area to find a 16' abp for a exibit.I ask around made some calls and could not find one in the price range.I never had possission of it.
 
Okay, I guess I am just gonna go and step in it here.

What was wrong with Peg posting under her employee's account...and admitting it?  I know that everyone who posts should set up one up themselves and it is not that hard, but if she was only doing that one post, is it that wrong?  And besides, it is not like she was trying to hide her identity, she came out and said who she was.  

Dave, your point #2 in which you claimed that you never said Neil was selling a stolen snake or that it sounded funny goes in direct conflict with what you DID say a few posts back.  You implied(okay you didn't SAY it outright, but the implication was there) that he was selling a stolen burm and that it was "fishy" how his ad was removed after the robbery was posted here.  

Your point #3 when you said YOU HAVE explained about those two snakes, can you please point me in the right direction to the place where you explained that?  Or maybe just repeat your explanation?  I haven't seen it, but like I said previously, I may have just missed it, and if so, I'm sorry.  

I know these points seem to have originated from Neil vs. Dave #9, but to me at least, they seem somewhat valid.  

And just for the record, I think you and Neil BOTH are making attacks on each other, though yours are more subtle, they are still there.
 
I think someone needs to bring something up here in this little thread ......  I don't know about anyone else but it really seems odd that when there is something going on in the Tampa area Dave's name always seems to come up.  Now I am not accusing anyone of anything but it seems funny to me that whenever something happens the same person is always accused of either doing it or knowing something about it, kinda makes you think.  IMHO  if you are not doing anything wrong then why would people keep accusing you of things you had nothing to do with.  A group of dealers seem to think that you are responsible for some bad things happening to them, not just one person but a group ..... why is that ?  Dave you are either the world's largest scapegoat or you are not as innocent as you make yourself out to be, whether you have anything to do with this particular incident or not.  If indeed you are innocent then you need to do everything in your power to prove that innocence.  Neil was asking where you acquirred the ABP and A. Boa and you said you have already answered that question but those two snakes cost a few beans and being in the business I never spend money without getting a receipt, this should be something that would be easy to prove and remove any suspicion from you.  Why don't you help yourself out here and comply with that simple request ?  Like I said earlier in this post,  I am not accusing anyone of anything but you are making yourself look bad here in my opinion.  You are preaching to the choir when you make claims about your reputation because from what I have seen here it aint to great !  I would really hate to see another million page post here, if you are not guilty PROVE IT !!! and if you really are then butch up and be a man, take your licks and dissappear and leave all the honest people in this industry alone to make an honest living.  There are a lot of scumbags around as is and we don't need any more.  On the other hand if you are being railroaded here stand up and prove yourself to be innocent and quit all the he said, she said stuff.  Lets end this soon.

Dave, how can you say Neil brought your name up.  You started the thread, you involved yourself regardless of anything else you may or may not have done.  I admit Neil does throw Dave into things a little too much but from someone who isn't involved at all, and who has read all of the threads.  You don't answer questions, you respond with more questions and accusations.  If you guys(not just Dave) would answer the questions these things may get resolved a lot quicker.  And why is the reporter coming to you if you aren't involved?  Everyone wants to blame everyone else.  Next thing you know it's a one armed man and a television series.

All of you guys can blame me, I did it, I've never been to Florida but hey, nobody else needs a reason to be accused.
As for the value of what was stolen, it would seem that the discrepancy would be wholesale versus retail.  IMO

Dave 15 different people have asked you where you got the a.b.p. and the a. boa.  ANSWER the questions!  Best I can tell you have not yet even admitted to owning them.  Answers should be in this format:  I got the albino burm from ____ (insert name).

Neil provide proof that Dave was trying to sell the animals that were stolen or shut-up!  Answers should show proof, like an add with a picture, or a flyer, or hell I don't know anything other than this he said/she said garbage.

I know both of you guys are middle-aged so you must have some common sense, right?  The phrase is: "Put-up or shut-up,"  not, "post-up a bunch of garbage and never shut-up."
 
What I mean is everytime Mr. Gubitz gets a chance he post my name.If a fellow herper stubs his toe going to the mailbox Neil will say Dave Lawson is at fault.If a snake gets loose Neil will say I stole it.The reporter is coming here at my request.
 
Just out of curiosity, why would you be sending tapes out to all of these people?  Just like in Neil's robbery, you seem to be WAY more involved in the investigation of this burglary than anyone else.  So you are calling detectives and news crews and insurance companies without anything but a video tape of a news report that mey or may not be taken out of context?  You could be out trying to help, but it just seems like you are WAY to willing to supply information to people that, unless they CAME TO YOU AND ASKED(or suspected you), would probably not give  a crap who you are.  You are so fast to supply information about others out of the goodness of your heart?  I am not accusing you of anything Dave, but that is just very odd in my book.  Unless you are being questioned, why would you A)be so quick to supply info to these different agencies and B) even have a CLUE who the detective is working the case?  I have found it odd in instances where your name came up in a robbery, you were quick to find out who was investigating it.  And it seemed like you were quick to get in touch with them and give them your side, too.  Or were they quick to get in touch with you?  As Gary said, your name seems to top out the list when it comes to funky stuff in Tampa.  But if a GROUP of people seem to think you are involved, maybe there is something to it.  I don't think EVERYONE there is out to get you, but they might be.  It is hard to say.
Also, her insurance adjuster could probably care less if she goes on the news and says a million dollars in stuff was stolen.  As long as she claims the right amount with THEM, it should not matter what she says to who.  And also, unless you have some proof of what was stolen yourself, do you really think that they care what some guy named Dave Lawson in Tampa has to say?  No offense intended, but again, what do they care?  Unless you have something solid to offer to the investigating parties other than a taped news story that I am sure they are aware of by now and some innuendo, you are only hurting yourself by getting involved any further than necessary.  
Also, what is up with that Albino Boa and Albino Burm?  I read you were trying to quickly sell a 13' albino burm, but now you are looking for a 16' one instead?  I'm confused.  I would hate to think that you were actually involved in any of the robberies, but your manner here just doesn't make you look good.
