Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

The animal rights group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals — PETA — filed a lawsuit against a San Luis Obispo-based company that sells products for pet reptiles, claiming the business encourages consumers to buy enclosures that could be harmful to snakes.

The national nonprofit organization, known for its aggressive activism, filed the lawsuit Sept. 24 in federal U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., against Zoo Med Laboratories, Inc., which has an office on Sacramento Drive and is described as a major global supplier of reptile products to retailers such as PetSmart, Amazon, and Walmart.

Specifically, the lawsuit alleges the company represents to consumers that snakes only require enclosures that are “no shorter than half the length of the snake” and that all of its enclosures, which PETA says are “small and inadequately enriched,” are not only appropriate but also ideal for pet snakes.

Zoo Med should sue the crap out of PETA with a countersuit for the damages their frivolous, meritless, and predatory lawsuit cost them. IMHO.

I agree this PETA has gone unchecked and without consequence for WAY TOO LONG! Not too mention in California PETAS attorneys can be deemed vexatious litigants.
 
The case was filed in federal court in DC, not in CA.

Also I suspect that Zoo Med's liability insurance attorneys fought the suit on their behalf so any award of attorney's fees would go to the insurance company, not Zoo Med, which is why companies have insurance. As cases go this one was likely cheaper to fight than a "slip and fall".
