• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

My wife and I just ordered a Florida Ivory millipede for our daughter, as a Yule gift. Having heard of the site in passing, we ordered from Bugs In Cyberspace.

Our order did not ship as quickly as we had hoped; it shipped 4 days after we paid. The reason this was potentially an issue is weather; we had been experiencing very cold temperatures and wanted to ensure that our daughter's new pet arrived warm and safe. For this reason we paid for overnight delivery. We were concerned the poor thing might freeze in the cold temperatures, and intentionally ordered right as a 5-day warm stretch of weather came. We were concerned when our package hadn't shipped near the end of the warm stretch and emailed Peter to express our concerns.

Within two hours of sending the email, we received a shipping notification. The package arrived early the following day, 10 hours after shipping according to the notification. Upon opening the package, it was packed very securely with several layers of boxes and newspapers to act as insulation. The millipede we ordered was actively running around inside the plastic cup, drinking water from the damp paper towel inside.

Additionally, we received a wonderful surprise. As an apology for the delay in his shipping or responding, Peter included a second millipede for free! The free millipede is a 2-inch little thing with pink legs and belly. Our daughter will be so thrilled!

Courteous messaging, careful packaging, prompt responses to emails, and a free pet for our daughter. We couldn't be happier. Thanks!

Ah, forgot to add the reason for the delay in shipping. He was away on a collecting trip. It seems it was simply bad timing all around, but in the end our experience was great. If we purchase any additional insect pets in the future, they will almost certainly be from here.

*Sigh* Apparently there was a misunderstanding between my wife and myself. She read the bugsincyberspace.com terms page and chose the pet. I simply made payment. Apparently the terms page indicates that insects ship Monday-Wednesday only, so the delay in shipping was, in fact, non-existent. There was no delay, only a misunderstanding. Although my wife read the page, I did not and thus misunderstood both the delay and the free millipede.

The pink millipede included was a wonderful freebie and not an apology, as no apology was or is warranted. He simply included an additional one out of kindness.

The transaction was wonderful. Peter stuck to his word and performed admirably. I simply misunderstood and thus misrepresented the nature of the delay and free millipede in my post. I apologize. The fault was mine.
