    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Were to begin,well i guess i could start with the fact that they traded me some sick waxy money tree frogs. OK i was there cause i was talking to them on the phone about trading my Russian tortoises for some tree frogs.They suggested the waxy monkey tree frogs so i came in and there they were they looking good wen i saw them at the "pet store" if i may call it.They said they would give me 2 adult one male and one female waxy monkey tree frogs for 2 Russian tortoises fair enough trade for me so, i brought them home soon there health started to deteriorate.They were in a newly cleaned enclosure and they had the right setup.The tree frogs just wouldn't eat,the would move at all not even at night and they just weren't thriving so i went to my reptile room and boom they were dead.I immanently took pics and called them they said they were fine when they left so they wouldn't even give back my tortoises :censored:
 
Sarah, how long did you have the frogs before they died? Can you post pictures please? Have you kept frogs before?
What kind of return policy does the pet store have ordinarily?
I'm sorry your frogs died.:(
 
I did a search and found an older article about a store that I think may be the store you purchased from:

The article said at that time a co- owner was Fred Kick, he has some BOI reviews. I do not know if he is now involved with the store you mentioned.
 
I'll keep this short as I do not want another threatening voicemail/call from fred. They say if i'm not mistaken, their policy is 7 days, but from past experience, it is your problem once the animals leave their store. I'm banned from their store for airing out my past experience. Kinda says something,doesnt it?
 
When you buy from the Kick's this is what you get. Hopefully everything else in your herp room doesn't start falling like dominoes. Clean everything in that room over and over again.
 
How long did you have them for? What environment did you have them in? do you have pics of them before/during.after death? Do you have pics of the setup?
 
We don't have enough info to take a side here, but, are you aware, that waxys are not kept like other frogs? They don't do well in a terrarium unless it's extremely large. They need a lot of air circulation, like chameleons. They do best in a screen cage with lots of UV and lots of spraying. A humid viv with no side-to-side air flow will do them in pretty quickly.

Sarah, I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I would not expect ANY sort of compensation from the Kick brothers whatsoever...

With my previous experiences with them, I would almost automatically accept the fact that YOU were not at fault in this deal in ANY way... They have a VERY strong reputation for backing out of guarantees and screwing people over...

I'm with Noelle, we just don't have enough info yet. Frogs are not so easy to take care of sometimes.
I think we need to have answers to all the questions I asked in my first post.

While I agree that the questions DO need to be answered, I also believe that their reputation speaks for itself...

While it is entirely possible that they are in fact NOT at fault in this particular case, that does not make them any LESS horrible...
 
They said if something went wrong to just call ,they died 7 day later.So i told the person on the phone what happened and asked for my tortoises back and they just hung-up on me. Before they died,I was trying to feed them crickets with dusted rep-cal.The enclosure was glass on the front and back ,but screened on the 2 sides for ventilation.They just weren't doing well ,the temps were right with the basking temps at 87°F,and a UV lite.I sprayed them and i had a shallow soaking dish for them.
