    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Looking for some information on these guys. Here's the story. There was a company by the name of Exotic Pets operating out of Philadelphia that pulled a disappearing act last year. It was owned by someone named Rose and her husband Pat. Before they disappeared they bounced a check on me for close to $900. They also did this to at least one other person that I know of. All phones were disconnected, and their bank account closed. Recently on the kingsnake classifieds someone by the name of Joshua Myers has been advertising under the company name Philadelphia Exotics, and their e-mail address is [email protected]. The fact that their names and e-mail are so similar and they are/were both from Philadelphia has me very suspiscious that Rose and Pat, are behind this new venture. If anyone has any inside information on Philadelphia Exotics, please let me know. If my suspiscions are unfounded I apologize, but in the meantime I would say buyer beware.

i am joshua myers, i own and operate philadelphia exotic pets. i do not know who this guy is refering to, but its not me or anyone i know. i emailed the guy who posted this comment and asked him to remove it or post a follow up saying that i am not the person that he is thinking about. i have a perfect record with all of my customers. he wrote me back saying

"Hello,
all I did was post an inquiry not an accusation. If
the two companies are not related in any way, you have
nothing to worry about. In fact I stated in the post
that I apologize if my suspiscions are unfounded.

all he had to do was ask, before posting something like this.

David...That was ABSOLUTELY the WRONG WAY to handle the situation you were in! You HAD their email address?? Why couldn't you have just ASKED HIM FIRST...instead of getting on here and make yourself look foolish??? I'll just never understand why people can't just look a guy in the face and ask the question!

Do you really think if Joshua was the guy who robbed Dave of 900, he would admit it??  All Dave did was ask for inside information, he even added a disclaimer.  He didn't accuse Joshua Myers.  If Dave finds it isn't the same guy, he should post a followup (under the same thread of course, no need to waste bandwidth).

Ciro...NO, I'm not kidding??? Suppose there was a guy out there named Cirow Speena who was ripping everybody off! Wouldn't you want your potential customer to ask you first if you were the same guy?? You're right, that doesn't mean he can't lie and say what you want to hear...but...you ASKED HIM FIRST??? If you don't get any comfort AFTER his answer...ask for his phone number?? If he's the same guy, he probably won't give it to you....I'm just saying you've got to exhaust all your other options before "going in the public eye" with "inquiries" that are unfounded?? Just the HINT of impropriety could be devastating for some...not to mention, possibly putting a damper on an otherwise perfect reputation....I still think this thread was PREMATURE when, as it turned out, ONE E-MAIL would have solved the problem....can you at least see where I'm coming from?? and CIRO i can see your point as well. however the situation stands, i am not the guy that dave is talking about. i have many refferances with people i do business with weekly, i have not been doing this very long, and i didnt even know that this board existed untill a customer of mine seen the comment on here and told me about it. some of my customers have even met me in person. i would be happy to give my phone # to dave. al i wanted to do is clear up the confusion, and still to this minute david has not posted a follow up in here. and now that i know that this board is here you can count on seeing me often.  once again thank you neil, a friend of mine told me that a complamint coming from you is better than 10 appoligies comming from dave.

Again, if my suspiscions were wrong then I apologize, I'm not making any accusations.  Do you really think someone that stole $900 dollars from me would say they were still operating their business if I asked them? They were bright enough to figure out how to rip off a couple of their suppliers in the end and then vanish, they aren't going to say "oh yeah, that's us" if I come right out and ask them. The similarities in names and location seemed too coincidental to me. All i did was make an inquiry looking for information, If Joshua just had the bad luck to choose the company name that a  couple of criminals used he has nothing to fear. I don't know if he is involved or not, that's what I'm trying to figure out.  I thought that was what the BOI was about.

if you would like any referances from people i have done business with, i would be happy to give them to you (some have met me in person). and if you can give me some info on these people ie. names address etc.. i can help find them for you (i am also a licensed bail enforcement agent) and have many friends in the police department here in philly. i dont believe any one should get taken advantage of by people like that, i will help you in anyway i can, and who knows mabe we will do business with each other in the future.
all that really counts is that i know who i am and what i do is 100% legit.

Hi,
I've been following the board of inquiry for a while and thought I'd
interject with some thoughts of my own. It seems as if it's far too easy to
start unsubstantiated rumors on here that could potentially ruin peoples
reputations and by extension, their businesses. To come on here without
doing any research first and say, hey these may be the guys that ripped me
off is almost criminally irresponsible. Do some research first, contact the
police and the better business bureau, do some background checking before
you post something like that. In this day and age it's far too easy to
destroy someone by simply making an accusation. You see it every day in the
papers, people who are ruined by innuendo and unfounded rumors. All you have
to do is tar someone with a label and a lot of people will believe it
whether it's true or not. A lot of people read the BOI and I'm sure that if
your names on here with people asking questions about you, it has an effect
on your business. I think it would be better for everyone if people made a
few phone calls first to check things out before posting on here. Just my 2
cents

   Josh, Neil and Ross are correct!  Everyone understands how bad it stings when you get burnt!!  There ain't no doubt about it!!!  Josh has offered to help find these people if you will let him.  And in the business he is in. Believe me he is in a position to help.  If these people? Rose and Pat wrote you a bad check?  You should know their last name? Right??  Well then post it here and send it to Josh.  If you ask? You will find help on this board.  It is not that hard to admit that you were wrong about Josh NOT being who you thought he was. Just a simple post!  Thats all!! I have not heard from anyone yet regarding my inquiry. I should have expected this since the Exotic Pets I was dealing with dealt mainly with pet shops who probably do not frequent this board. The fact that Josh is responding to my inquiry indicates to me that he is probably not affiliated with the Exotic Pets of last year. The other guys would probably be slinking back into the shadows. To address the people that stated I did not do any research before posting my inquiry, just for the record I did ask some Philly suppliers and they hadn't heard anything. I also tried to see if Josh's address matched up to the other guy's and it didn't. I tried to match phone numbers and Josh is apparently unlisted. The reason I posted was to see if any one else had information. These guys were really sneaky and it would be pretty easy to just set up a friend or relative with a different phone number and address and continue business as usual. If Josh had turned out to be involved with the former Exotic Pets rest assured they would continue to rip people off. Josh, I would give serious thought to changing your business name,otherwise you may run into this same problem again. In conclusion, if anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of Rose and Pat of Exotic Pets , operating out of 4935 Frankford Ave Philadelphia, please let me know.

I'm embarassed to admit it, but I have their old phone and fax numbers, their business address, their bank account number but not their last name. It was a company check she signed so it just has her business name on it, and her signature is illegible. On top of that the other feeder suppliers she was dealing with (and burned) don't know either. Real smart of me I know. The other guys have kind of given up, but I decided long ago that I will not allow anyone to get away with that kind of crap. Tom, every lead helps, and you are the first person to offer one. If you don't mind could you e-mail me that information?

   I was just using this Pet Shop as an example. I will still post the info. But you should know in the last 15 yrs. there have been two owners. And I know both of them!!  And there are not any Rose or Pat that have ever been involved at this store. But here is the info:

i do know where the address is that you are talking about, so i drove by it tonight (im like 1 mile away from there) it is a dry cleaning business now. it was closed for the night, but i will go back tomarrow and talk to the owner and find out who he rents it from, then ill ask that person what pat and rose's last names are, then we can go from there.
listen dave i dont like seeing people get ripped off any more than the next guy, but when this is all over i do expect an apology with out any,  if , ands or buts in the sentance.
you lost money cause these people ripped you off,  i have been losing money becouse of somthing i know nothing about or had anything to do with, thats not cool at all.
and as far as my name is concerned, i will not even give it a thought of changing it, i am just hoping that if anyone else gets confused about my name and the other one they will ASK
 
Just my 2 cents about the name of the place.......I'm pretty sure that there is probably a store called "Exotic Pets" in just about every major city in the US.  I mean, if that's what they sell, why be called anything else.  I'm just glad this guy didn't run into a problem with "Barber Shop"  There would be a lot of suspicious people around the US.  I'm not sure if he was serious about changing the name, but it's pretty simple, established business whouldn't change their name due to a former business having a similar one.  

Anyway......Josh, I look forward to seeing you at the South Western PA Reptile Show

i know, there's most likely 5000 stores called exotic pets.
you know what, i just read his last post again, and he even said he looked into it before posting the original comment, said our address's didn't match and nobody gave him any sort of idea that i was or am affiliated with the pat and rose people, and he still posted that comment "BUYER BEWARE".
man as of today I have received 46 emails from people who "aren't sure if they want to do business with me based on the suspicion that I might be a con man." WHY MUST I EXPLAIN TO THESE PEOPLE AND ASSURE THEM THAT IM NOT THOSE PEOPLE. this is really starting to aggravate me, my orders have almost been cut in half since this B.S. started. if Dave does not post a reply saying that HE WAS WRONG 100% AND TOTALLY UNJUSTIFIED IN HIS SUSPICIONS ABOUT ME AND MY BUSINESS, i will take this to a higher level other than in here. i am almost certain that this has got to fall under the slander laws, being as people are believing him and i am losing money, strictly based on his unfounded and not very well thought out comment. i have said it before and ill say it again, i will still help all i can to find these people who ripped Dave off.  Dave do the right thing and just say you are wrong 100%.   And Todd im looking forward to the show as well, see you there

Just want to say to Dave, do the right thing and post a retraction. You've obviously gone after the wrong person and hurt his business in the process. Everyone makes mistakes, so be a standup guy and help clean this up
