    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

He just answered!!!! His name is "Jeb" & his address is 94t5 East Mable? (Could have been Maple) area code 47130.... He voluntereed all his info on my asking about the snakes on cl...
He claims he didn't steal anything & that he only "borrowed" the pics as an example of the snake for sale.I asked why noy post your own pictures? & his response was that he will not be doing it again.I informed him that he was in violation of copyright infringement laws...

I guess Jeb recently moved from Indiana to Kentucky.
 
As someone who used to live in that area. Louisville is literally right across a river from Indiana so it probably isnt all that uncommon to have people in KY with IN phone numbers and vice versa.

I think I actually know this guy from the local ky reptile shows. My suggestion to you would be to forget about any legal action and chalk it up to an annoyance that has been dealt with, assuming it doesn't happen again. He is what attorneys like to call "judgement proof" from what i can see.

Very good post. The fact he didn't even alter the picture can be construed as no "malicious intent" on his part but rather poor judgement.

not saying that at all, although i'm not refuting that statement. I'm saying you can't get blood from a stone and that litigation would potentially be a big waste of your money in this case. Feel free to PM me if you need more than that, I don't tend to post very often as i'm not narcissistic enough to add to the obtuseness of 300 page threads that tend to go in circles, but i may be able to fill in some grey areas for you 1 to 1.

If you need more than i've given feel free to p.m. me, but in answer to your question yes i'm 99.99999999999% sure i know this guy and so do a whole lot of other people at kentuckyreptileexpo.com if you'd like to ask around there. Kentucky/Indiana is a pretty tight reptile community we all know each other. I expect you might find some interesting opinions there concerning Jeb, in fact i was directed to this fauna thread off a thread on the kre website as their is a post going concerning this showing up here. I'm really not all that comfortable going any further on this so if i haven't given enough here the rest will have to be via p.m, I already feel like a hypocrite for having cluttered up this thread by 4 posts when i have no dog in this fight.
 
Steve... you may have no dog in this fight.... but as the person he stole the image from... I appreciate you putting in all the info you have. Personally... I'd like it if you would post his full name.

Im gonna have to go with really stoopid! I'm a firm believer that in the end Karma will get ya.

Back when all this took place, I had someone contact me with some information about this guy. At the same time the copywrite attorney told me I had X number of years to persue this guy and to keep what I had. That is exactly what I planned on doing.

Well his stoopidity took him down before I could. Actually.... this is even more fitting. :rofl:
