In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I guess I agree and disagree. I mean obviously if there are multiple deposites, you question someone's husbandry. And if you're selling an animal, especially if people don't know your reputation for good husbandry you should definitely make your animals for sale look their best by cleaning out the poop and waiting until they're not in the middle of shedding (I hate those pics), but I think it's different when you're trying to click a quick pic to show people on the forum and there are one or two pieces of doo in the pic. I mean come on, are there really that many people who go to the trouble of posting on fauna regularly who don't take good care of their animals. Let's face it we're all obsessed with our animals. I have 10 geckos living in my house. That's not nearly as much as some of you but it's still a lot. They are all well taken care of, but come on they all poop. Even those really high priced mack super snows poop. And none of us have time to eliminate every poo as it happens, so I'm kinda over it. If I was totally turned off or offended by a little bit of lizard poo, I would definitely need to find a new hobby.

How hard is it to remove that poo before taking a picture?

not hard I guess, but it's probably not hard to miss it either. I mean I always change the paper towel or whatever substrate I'm using before I take pics, but at the same time if I see a pic with minimal amounts of fecal matter in it from a breeder I've heard of before my first assumption is "oh he didn't notice the poo" or "it's one poo that's not a big deal." Not "obviously he doesn't take any kind of care of his animals at all, the sick freak!"

I believe most of the ads that I read/hear about that are the most disgusting to people are the ones were a person can easily tell the cage has not been cleaned in quite a long time, more than just one piece of poo. I have seen some ads where the snake must have defecated at least 3-4 times and the cage was a HUGE mess, those are the cages most complained about.

Eeew. Now hard hard would it have been to simply throw away the old paper towel and put a new clean one down before taking the picture? How much time would it have taken to do so?

Crap is offensive? Never heard that from anyone.
How about turd? Or maybe toilet torpedo? Or one I rather enjoy, the stink pickle.
Can't use fecies, it's not a word.

That was great! I laughed all the way to the end of the thread. :rotflmao:

As for the torpedos people show in their pics.....Yup, totally annoying. Lazy people with lousy husbandry practices. That Retics been in that crap for a while in that last photo. Tha's just sickening.

OK, I fixed yer link. Yer right, that's pretty damn fowl. Don't even want to start going there right now.

As for the URL I dont know why it didn't link unless you have it right next to other words. Leave a space before and after the URL, or hit enter, than paste it, and enter again.

That gator pic is nasty!!

How about this uromastyx from a current ad?

Thats really pathetic.Revolting ,and sad.I feel sorry for the animal when i see them in these kinds of situations. And it bothers me more knowing theres not much I can do about it.
People that allow this to happen and cant be bothered to take the time to care for the animal properly should have to live like this as well.
Put them in a 8'x8' room with no toilet, and no bucket.Do unto others as they've done themselves. Then maybe they'll understand.

You should have let 'em have some "feedback" over that one. It's even nastier than the gator shot. Just sickening!! There has to be 2 weeks worth of pooh just in those pics alone!
Though, I still don't buy a gator making the water that foul just during trasport. That water is weeks old I would wager.

The sidenotes in this threat are hilarious!! The pics....well, not so hilarious. I don't have any "big" herps anymore, but you guys should start a "Who's snake takes a bigger poo" contest.

.....and no, I didn't vote for the fetish choice...

Gabe :hehe:

"That is one big pile of sh*t!!" -Jeff Goldblum

Impressive. What made that? I should have taken a pic last week of our BP "toilet torpedo". His biggest to date. Made Daddy proud!!

I guess it's on then. Post your pet's pellets here! Try to top that one!
