    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

...long story short...I am selling off a herp collection for a friend, and leopard gex are a part of it...I know very little about gex, so a little help please...are these healthy looking? are they just regular ol' leopards?...I do know that they are adults, and are kept 1 male to 4 females in a 55 gallon aquarium with a heat lamp and UVA flo. lights...any info or opinions would be greatly appreciated...:)

They appear to be normals. The females' tails look to be pretty thin. It could be from malnutrition, or it could be disease/parasites. I would get a fecal done by a vet to be sure. What does their diet consist of?

The UVA light is not necessary as leos are nocturnal and do not benefit from the Ultra Violet.

Also, what is the substrate? Sand can cause impaction, especially when they are eating crickets as the picture looks like they are in the enclosure with them.

Thanks for the reply, Tony...AFAIK, they are on a cricket diet, and I am not sure if they are supplemented...I kinda thought they looked thin, thats why I wanted to get some opinions on them before I put them out there for sale....Like I said, these are not mine lol....I don't know much about gex, but I do know it will be my name associated with them if I am to be the seller...Looks like more investigations are necessary on these...

Chris, I'd be hesitant to sell any of them. I've seen plenty of Leopard Geckos in that condition that just never turn around. They go anorexic, refusing to eat anything, and waste away.

Its really not worth putting your name on the line, especially if you don't know the history of the animals... Let your friend sell them if he must - or recommend a vet visit.

Thanks Mark, think I'm gonna follow your advise on this one and let him do what he will with them...His pair of corns and bearded dragon look great; guess the gecko's take a little more time and effort to keep tip top...

leos take significantly less time to care for than beardeds, and significantly more time than corns. perhaps that's why their care was largely overlooked?

Don't put your name on the line for stuff like this, it's just not worth it...

Thanks Steve (and all)...You hit it on the nail, Steve...the owner bought a house, remarried, and is working two jobs...Just no time, and it looks like the gex are the first to "notice" the lack of time to care...It's some slight dilemna: The sale is for a friend of our family, and I will feel bad letting him know that I cant in good faith sell animals that I've had reviewed by folks and found "wanting"...The two corns and the bearded "looked" great; altho I'm no lizard expert, and wouldn't even claim to be a corn snake expert lol; they're just what I prefer...I'm selling his caging too(all assorted aquariums)...the 55 gal. tank the gecko's reside in is going to a coworker as a fish tank for her sons Xmas gift...food for thought guys, think i'm gonna pull my ad on this and reassess the whole collection for a better idea...may just pull the old "Sorry bud, no one seems interested" wink wink...again, appreciate everyones input...peace
