    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Got some more pics of Stoner. He's pretty mellow taking the meds for his coccidia and pinworms. Loves his mealworms, though today he wasn't too interested but did have 2 large bm's today. I've been soaking him 10-15 minutes each day while i'm doing the treatment to make sure he stays hydrated. He doesn't seem too keen on eating any veggies(or so I've seen). He's definitely become alot more active since i've been soaking him and giving him his meds.
 
Thank you Art. He's a sunburst. Both his parents were Sandfires. A friend got him for me at the Hamburg show. Now the guy who sold him said that if i was interested in breeding that I should do it to a hypo female or else i'm going to get regular colored dragons. Is this true? Has anyone heard of this?
 
I don't know. I am not familiar with dragon genetics. If hypo in dragons is a dom or co-dom gene then, yeah, the offspring would be gorgeous. A hypo seems like a good pick to me. Art
 
If both parents are sandfires, then that makes him a sandfire. Not a sunburst.

As far as breeding goes, you can breed him to anything that he is not related to. Breed him to an OGG and you'll get nice orange babies. Or you could breed him to a sandfire red and get babies with a nice red to them. The possibilities are endless. I personally think that by breeding him to a hypo it will result in more normal looking babies than some other lines you can choose from. Hypo's have a lack of melanin that results in lighter colors and less dark pigment. Like most normals have already.

Ultimately it's up to you. The possibilities are endless and most of the time it's pot luck anyways. There is rarely a breeding that will give you exactly what you expect. Variety is the spice of life and most breeding's give you a BIG variety!!! :hehe:
 
He's adorable and if I had a choice when I got my beardies I would have gone with more color but I'm not going to complain since my beardies were given to me.

I can definatly say that you never know what you're going to get when breeding since my sandfire girl and normal boy produced a baby that ended up being huge. I kept a baby from my first clutch, he ended up being much bigger than his parents and he's not even a year old yet. I'll try to get some pictures of him tomorrow but he's going through a shed right now and looks pretty nasty but he looks like a normal beardie even though he had some really nice red in his back when he was little. I will say that if you plan on breeding be prepared to spend a lot on crickets I had 10 last year and spent nearly $100 in a month on crickets just to feed them and this year my girl's laid 40 eggs so far, I've got 29 incubating right now so be prepared for large clutches as well.

As far as the veggies go baby beardies need more protien than veggies to help them grow and he'll get more interested in greens as he gets older but it never hurts to get him used to them now. I was lucky with my baby because he was more interested in veggies than crickets from the begining and that might be why he's so big now but who knows.
