What are the average prices Pieds go for now? When I started getting interested in them they were a little expensive for what I could afford at that time. I was just in the classifieds and saw a thread where a guy sold a pied not a het for $200 shipped???? Was this a fluke? And some lucky person got a deal or maybe I misunderstood the post.. But I offered to buy a 100% het female and told the local shop here and told him that my top price would be $1,000 but I want to check with you guys to make sure I didn't just put dollar signs in this guys eyes.. I'm interested in high, low, and average prices for a female 100% het and a visual Pied female?

Thank you for you time in reading this.

P.s Is spell check acting weird or is it me?

Regards,

Last october I bought a 1.0 pastel 100% het pied and a 0.1 female 100% het pied for $650. Thought I got a decent deal

The $200 "Pied" was likely a scam and that "lucky" person got ripped off.

If you're buying an adult breedable female het pied (not poss het) you'll spend around $1,000

Pieds are still in the $1500 range yet, though.

And do yourself a favor by searching the classifieds here to confirm what Erik is telling you. Research is king in this field, ESPECIALLY when it comes to "hets." You should know WHO did the breeding AND get some kind of paperwork that guarantees the genetics. Then, don't forget to research the breeder on the BOI!
BTW, I believe the add you were referring to was from Cameroon...ALL of those are scammers--check out the responses posted after the initial post!

I did flip through a couple pages in the classifieds... on that note is there a way to filter through the classifieds by type, or a keyword? But I want to be careful with this question as I don't to turn this thread into one which should have been posted elsewhere.

Thanks

Well, it IS a discussion forum...but to answer your question you can use the search function just below the light green box that says Welcome, dave84. Be aware though that if you do the search from the main page, it will bring up every thread with the searched word in it, so make sure you're in the forum you want to search when you do it!

On the navigation bar ^ there's a "Search" tab. If you go to the classifieds, and to the particular category you're interested in, and hit that Search link, you'll get some results. The closer you get to the category you want, the more accurate your results will be.

Or, use the advanced search (http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/search.php) and manually pick out the information you need.

Thank you! I was not aware that was forum based and like you said I was getting ALL the threads instead of searching just the classifieds section...:D

pied

Dave - I bought a pair of 100% het pieds from Rustysballs approximately a month ago, call Rick Cunningham and ask him if he has anymore. imo $1000 is to much. i Know Rick will do better than that and his snakes will most likely be from different clutches.

Erik does make a great point when he says "adult breedable". Price really can depend on what you are getting. I got my first het pied female three years ago. Unless you are going with a well known and established breeder there is always some degree of risk in getting hets. However, if my female does prove out to be het and I was inclined to sell her...NOT. I would not even consider any offer under $1000. JMO

i would be extra careful about buying "hets" from pet stores, too. anyone can have a tank full of normals and slap a price tag on it that says "het for (insert morph here)". good luck with your hunt!
