    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am expecting the cage I ordered for the new veiled to arrive sometime this week.
I am trying to plan for everything, I have a drip system and sprayer and new UV bulbs are coming (I have some that are only a few months old but I decided to get a new one). And I got a ficus tree and some other little plants and a fountain. And some of those vine thingies.
What else would you plan if you were preparing a new cage for a cham?
 
My planning would have been a bit different as I would have had the set up complete BEFORE the cham arrived.
 
Thanks for the input, Ro, very helpful. It is in a completely set up smaller cage, currently. Got any suggestions for any further stuff I should add to my list?
 
Fountains aren't good to use because the water gets recycled through is and becomes swamped with bacteria. Also someone else says they rinse the live plants really good and let them sit for a week to make sure there isn't any pesticides or foliaar fertilizer that can harm or kill a chameleon. Other than that, mine like those fake rubber vines and thin bamboo that connects all the spots in the cage. I also have fake plants and vines draped all along the sides and back of the cage so she feels more secure.

That's a great idea and I am going to take the plants I bought and spray them off in the bathtub.

You're very welcome, Lu, I just didn't want potential newcomers thinking that perhaps you had gotten your cham without the set up first, after all you did start three threads on this one cham :D

Along with fake plants (though I do like the idea of real ones as well) I also went out and got dowels and cut them to size, this also aided on getting them out by just taking out the dowel with the cham on it for cleaning.

Pix in a few days, I hafta find the battery charger thingie for the camera battery, but that won't happen until the ten yards of mulch on the driveway is in the garden.
Pinecone is in his new shack and it pretty nice. The guys who made my cage are the LDS cage company and it is a beautiful custom cage. I got a Rainmaker mist system and mostly real plants including bromeliads, and a large fountain. I need to string a few more of those fake vines for him to walk around more although the large ficus gives him lots of branches, and I'm putting in a bit more Spanish moss.
He looks happy, although I don't know if you can really tell in a chameleon.
