    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Play sand

I use playsand for mine. As for drying it out, I'm not sure what you mean? It's pretty dry to begin with. Beardies need a pretty dry environment, so a water bowl isn't needed, therefore, there will be no water spilling. The occassional misting is ok, but no need to soak them down. When mine gets his salad at night, I mist the salad down to keep it from drying out since he stays at about 100 degrees.

I shoulda clarified. the sand was damp when i got it. i dried it in one of the most retarded ways i could think of (it's been a busy week at work and i'm not thinking clearly.) it took hours. thanx for the help.
 
I use the play sand all of the time for beardie setups. I just put the sand in the tanks, turn on the lights to heat things up and stir the sand from time to time. Doesn't take it long to dry out. I never have received a shipment of really wet sand.

I have used play sand for beardies for years. One way to dry damp sand is to bake it at about 250°F. Finding a pan that will hold a bunch of sand is up to you though :p
 
We use playground sand as well.

Loews and Home Depot sell it in 50 pound bags, usually near the redi-mix cement.
 
When buying sand you want to buy the finest grain, washed, screened play sand you can find at Home Depot :) If you are asking an associate about it, tell them you are looking for play sand for childrens sand boxes :)
 
We usually sift it once to remove any larger pieces that remain. Some bags are worse than other.
