    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I am a 6th grade teacher in Nacogdoches, Texas. I was given a flying squirrel for my classroom, and we have loved her for the past 2 months. I took her home in her cage over the Christmas holiday to care for her, and my family has enjoyed feeding her and refilling her water dish each day.

Today was a nice day, so I put her cage outside so she could enjoy the weather. I was watching her play and bounce around inside her cage. She seemed to be very happy. I even watched the dog and cats walk around her cage, sniff and walk away.

I left for a little while to take my daughters shopping with their Christmas money. I wasn't gone 15 minutes before I got a call from my boys who had stayed home to work on our farm that she had been killed by our cats. (Apparently, the cats had caught her skin through the cage and had tried to pull her through the cage. They did not succeed. Unfortunately, however, she was killed.)

We are all heartbroken in my family, and I cannot imagine how difficult it will be to tell my little students her fate when we return to school on Monday, Jan. 7th. It will be a LITTLE easier if I have a replacement for her.

Do you know where I can find one?
