In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Please Help!! Ups F-ed Up

You're damn right you're entitled to be bitchy. I would be too.

I hope the animals are safe, and hopefully you get this whole mess figured out. I know how excited you were about getting them. God I hope they're all right.

On the up side (if there is one), even if they do find the package and bring them to you, you should still get a full shipping refund (guaranteed by 10:30...)

For as much as UPS does tracking on packages, you'd think they would have some tracking on the trucks as well. It'd be really easy to inplement. When the package is dropped off, the current GPS location of the truck (maybe tied into a mapping program to give an actual address) is reported along with the time and signature.

I have to beleive that UPS has GPS on the trucks (if for nothing else, mapping on how to get to certain places), I would think it would save them a lot of hassle and almost eliminate employee theft since they would always know where the package was when it was signed for. Just seems like a company of that size would have some measures built in to prevent this sort of thing.

OK, so I was told the driver would be here in 1/2 hour to talk to me. Well, 1/2 hour has come and gone, and he's still not here.

So, I called UPS again. The girl I've been dealing with said that the driver has been ignoring her. And just as I hung up I saw him pull outside and go to 9119. He pressed the button twice, and then hopped in his truck and drove away.

I just talked with her again, and she said the driver won't speak with us yet because he can't recover the package. He said that he knows for sure that he took it there, and no one is home. SO, I'm going to go post some notes to the doors with my contact info, and hope they get back to us soon!

Man, that S*C*S

I was on the phone with them a while ago. I got NO where! She told me the package was delivered. HOPEFULLY it was to someone who's honest and they can retrieve it. I am getting so sick of UPS! Shipped out hundreds of geckos and NEVER had a problem until recently! I marked the box extremely VIVIDLY with LIVE ANIMALS!!! NO HEAT!!! etc, etc. I pray that little guy is safe and he arrives to ya SHANTI! Keep me posted!

that is really messed up! i hope everything works out for you and you certainly have every right to be angry and upset. best of luck and i'll be thinking of you and the geckos.

Shanti, here's my advice for dealing with UPS. This is just a suggestion based on the loops UPS has put me through in the past.

1. Get on the phone with them again, and start asking about how to file a claim for damages. I know it might sound a little premature, but as soon as they hear that they start scrambling. Let them know what the animals are worth, too.

2. When you're on the phone with them, let them know that you hadn't seen the truck on your street at all prior to him stopping back at 9119. Mention your suspicions about possible theft. Maybe even go as far as to ask about reporting a theft, and think about asking the police to check the truck. I have no idea if they can do that, but it's worth a shot.

Good luck, I hope everything turns out okay.
(If you need some heads bounced, I'm only 2 1/2 hours away :dgrin: )

I agree. Right now the driver thinks you are powerless. Start mentioning theft, damages (which may come out of his check), the police, and possible job loss, and I'll bet he turns out to be real friendly all of a sudden.

Absolutely agree! Get on that idiot driver's case. He's not being professional.
And most importantly, I hope the leos are OK.

Anything new??? Been thinkin about you and your babies all day.....I sure hope you've gotten somewhere!!!

I think I would have ran out screaming if I would have seen that UPS driver knocking on someone else's door, lol.....jeez.

Keeping my hopes up for ya.

The note on the door worked. The cleaning lady had signed for the packages. So soon as the resident had come home she walked straight over with the packages - in the rain!! I am very happy to say they are both alive and apparently doing well. I just got them about 20 mins ago.

YAY!!!!!!!!! Oh, I am SO glad to hear they got there!!!! :)

I think I'd STILL have that driver's head though, lol....just for putting you through it all!!!

Who would have thought that I would read some good news about UPS messing up today, that is great to know.

Wow, sounds like you've had quite a day Shanti! I am glad you got the geckos safe and sound!!!

I hope someone gives that driver a load of s*** for the way he ignored your problem. Every city is different, and I have the best luck with DHL for reptile deliveries. I've learned with UPS that I need to have the package sent to the local UPS office for pick up. Otherwise, they don't deliver to my house until 5-7 pm in the evening, even when the package is sent Next Day AM. :hot:
