• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Please sign this petition!

Well Dan, I signed it, mostly because if it passes in NY it will only snowball into the other states.. however, it doesn't help the matter that the other 10 signatures look like they were done by a 10 year old... I'm fairly certain that numbers 4-6 or 7 were done by the same person... Tom, Frank.... *sigh*

well then....

Despite the fact that yes they do look like 10 year olds signing it, the are signatures and remember they DO count on the petition.

When you address the governor of any state, especially when you are petitioning him/her to help your cause, it would be prudent and courteous to use his/her whole name and to capitalize the first letter of his/her last name. He should be addressed as Governor George E. Pataki.

You may think this a minor point, but the governor may find it somewhat insulting. In that case do you think he would be more or less willing to help? He is or was once a reptile keeper. Let's keep him sympathetic to our cause through, at least in part, our use of common courtesy when addressing him.

That was my reply in another forum, same subject as this, by the same thread starter as this one. I repeat it here because there are some others who have replied under this particular forum. I now realize this is spread out over at least 3 forums, I think which amounts to a violation of fauna policy. Why not put this where it belongs in the Laws, Legislative Issues and Alerts forum before it gets deleted. You can request the web master move it for you.

As to signatures on the petition, you have to realize that any signatures on a petition that are questionable can be found invalid. I am not sure why one of the other posters on this thread believe someone has signed it multiple times using various names, but if it is found that a petition has been repeatedly signed by the same person using different names, and then is submitted, someone may be charged with fraud. This is a serious criminal matter if such is the case. Not only can someone wind up charged with a crime, if found guilty that person could spend some time in jail or be fined. This could be the person(s) responsible for signing multiple times under various aliases or could be the person who submits the petition. Another reason that a petition can be found to be invalid is that signatures are not verifiable. When signing a petition, if you do not sign your full name, then your signature is useless - it will not count. Anyone who signs Moe, Larry or Curly would have that signature found not usable. On the other hand when someone signs Moe Howard, Larry Fine, Curly Howard (and these are their real names as opposed to the names of the three stooges which I use only as examples) then there is a chance that the signatures will be recognized as valid. Note I said there is a chance that the petition will be found valid, many on-line petitions are not considered valid although they still may have some minor effect.

A petition is a good thing when done properly, it is useless for our cause when done improperly, or fraudulently. It certainly does not deserve recognition of our lawmakers and government officials if it is fraudulent; nor should it be utilized by those of us who are honestly trying to make our viewpoint count. I would ask that if anyone has made a fraudulent entry on the petition, they immediately contact the party responsible for this petition and ask that their name(s) be removed.

Best regards,
Glenn B

glenn i put it up in 2 other places because i thought i'd get more signatures, how would i go about getting the othered deleted?

also..how would i fond out if someone sighed numerous times?..i'd like to find that out...

Hope it goes well

I would gladly sign your petition, but i dont think that a Canadian signature will help you much . In my town, there is a local ban for snake and it will soon go to reptile in general. All this because of the stupid who's in charge of collecting wild animal. He's affraid of reptile and snake in particular, so he convince the town council that they are dangerous animal...That stupid guy sell german sheppard..like they are not dangerous...i wonder in a year how many kids are disfigured or kill by dogs and how many by all reptiles in general...

Send Rich Z, the webslave, an email asking him to delete the other ones, and he probably will.

As to checking on the signatures I don't have a clue. I don't kinow why the other poster thought the signatures were by the same person.
