Hmm, well, I was up late on Tuesday night watching the election returns, and sometime after midnight Biden was leading with electoral votes, but with the half a dozen or so states that were colored pink and the one in light blue, the percentages of tallied votes and the margins between Trump and Biden clearly showed that Trump was going to win by the electoral votes when the dust settled. Then the vote count numbers just stopped incrementing. Full stop. When I went to bed around 3:30, the numbers hadn't changed at all for a couple of hours. Quite unlike what happened in 2016.
Logically, you would expect the new votes to be counted in any given state to roughly hold the same percentages for each candidate as those tallied earlier in the day. So from what I could see it was pretty much a done deal. By the figures shown on the screen.
When I got up Wednesday, it was pretty surprising (to say the least) to see how radically the numbers had changed. So much so that in all cases nearly ALL of the later vote counts would have to have predominantly for Biden. What are the chances of that in multiple states?
I don't know, but something just smells bad about this. Now it is no secret that I would prefer Trump to win, but if the American populace had spoken and elected Biden, then oh well, it is what it is. We've had a fair share of presidents in the past that I didn't particularly care for, and except for minor bumps along the road, things just kept on keeping on here in Peonville.
So quite honestly, I am just suspicious about this election and why things went like they did. Yeah, seeing Hawaii called for Biden with 0 % of the votes counted raised eyebrows, as did many states with percentages lower than 50 percent being counted at the time. Whereas the states that were not called had much higher percentages of counted votes, and the spread between the candidates wider than some states already called "BLUE".
I think the distressing part about this is the suspicion that we are being slapped in the face and railroaded along some path. If there was, in fact, fraud with the election process, we are being told point blank that our votes do not count. What we want does not matter. It is all a charade. A stacked deck. Trump caught them by surprise in 2016, IMHO, and I had my doubts that that would ever happen again. Honestly, it was actually a bright spot to be able to think that just maybe the elections aren't rigged, and votes really do count and can force surprises now and again.
Oh well, I guess no matter what happened, some people would not like it, and some people would. Many won't care either way. Will there be more violence with Trump re-elected than with Biden winning the election? Or less? Has the violence genie been let out of the bottle, and it doesn't matter any longer who rubbed the lamp?
Quite frankly, I feel like we have been put in our places. The train of our future desired by the powers that be that got derailed in 2016 looks like it will be back on track in 2021, regardless of what we think about it. The swamp has spoken with an unmistakable bite.
And yes, after four years of attempts, the democrats look like they have finally gotten what they wanted. To get Trump out of office, no matter what, and by whatever means necessary.
Socialism, anyone?
IMHO, of course.
