• In the past two days I have gotten emails asking about being requested to provide credit card info in order to register and also to make a post in the classifieds forums. PLEASE NOTE: In no instance will this site ask you for this sort of information. The only time any request for payment is made is if you choose to opt-in for a higher membership level, and that is done SOLELY through PayPal. Anything else is coming from a source other than this site. My guess is that this is coming through Google Adsense, but when I can get someone to send me a screen shot of this sort of request, I will know more.

    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Pleasure to be here

Hi ladies and gents,

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. My name is John and I live in Covington, LA (just outside of New Orleans). Im fairly new to reptiles except for the occasional snake we would keep for a while after catching it as kids. My wife on the other hand grew up with two snakes, a Colombian Red tail and also a Suriname boa. Hoping to learn a lot here and get a boa soon as well.

Take care,

I just drove through LA a few weeks ago, it was my favorite state to pass through on the southern end of the US. Once my wife is done with school I might try to convince her to move there :p

Welcome to the community John! :)

I know almost nothing about Boas except that they are bigger snakes - my husband and I keep Ball Pythons, Carpet Pythons, and Kenyan Sand Boas... but they are just little guys, they'll only get 2 feet - perfect for me! :)

Sounds like you know what you want, and your wife already has a good background in herping... wishing you the best of luck in your future scaly endeavors!
