In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Inquiry PMherp cages/Paul Mitchell

Has any one used PMHerp cages or racks? how do they compare with Boaphile or Pro Line cages? Thanks, Jason Domine

I have 3 of the 11 high 32qt racks. I love them! the way the heat tape is routed threw the shelves actually lets the heat in from the top of each shelf also. Meaning to get a 90 degree temp reading you only need to set the thermo to like 85.. I've used other racks where you would have to set the thermo to Very high levels (97-100+) to get good temp readings. I'm saving up for alot more of these racks!

There is a shop in the area that has a bunch of their cages on their sales floor. They were cool enough that I inquired where they got them from. They are priced pretty well, I believe you have to supply your own heat though.

I have 4 of his cages ( 2-12x12x24 and 2 12x24x24) and a hatchling rack. I havent used the rack yet but I love the cages. IMO best prices for the size he sells.

We have quite a few of his racks (hatchling, shoebox and sweaterbox) and a lot of his cages, including 4 footers and 6 footers. We've never had any problems with any of them and I plan to get more from him in the future.

Hey All,

I have purchased cages, racks, and displays both new and used equipment of his for my own use and resale. I really like the customization ability that they have allowed-I know custom orders can be a pain. Payment plans and delivery to various shows and events has been a snap.

I am slightly biased due to a 10 year business relationship with Paul and the manufacturer, however if I didn't like his products I wouldn't have been a customer this long.

The only downside I have to the cages are:

1. Dont drop them off the back of the truck-you really cant do this with anything but visions but who wants to pay 3x more than they have to for a cage. I have some cages that are almost 7 years old and they have travelled here and there, gone to shows, sold and rebought and gotten moved a bunch of times, and I had to reglue the seams. But that is not a manufacturing defect. Thats my handling the cage more than intended. I have never had a cage problem with racks or cages that got setup and stayed there.

The positives are(only mentioning companies I actually have cages from). I am just comparing products, this is not a "dis" to any company. I have used production caging since 1997 and I buy from who I need to depending on the application, legal restrictions, and what I feel comfortable using for that species. There are no "perfect cages" since these animals were designed to be outside but some caging is more convenient and suited to certain applications. Here are the positives for general animal housing I found using Pauls cages.:

1.Lighter than Visions, Animal Plastics, Boamaster, and Freedom Breeder

2.More durable and user friendly than Neodeshas(even the square customs)

3.One fifth the price of Freedom breeder, one half to one third the price of visions.

4.Have been the only company willing to customize racks for me.

5. Have a line of venomous caging and racking

6. They are actual snake and reptile breeders themselves, so they "get it" when it comes to the consumers need.

7. Price

8. This plastic used is less odor absorbent than visions, and discolors less than neodeshas(although I have some old old cages that have discolored somewhat)

thanks
ben
