    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I'm just curious: which is the biggest male in captivity???
I just took weight of my male "empty", after shedding and after a brumation during he ate really few. I think he can easily take other 600gr-1kg (22-35Oz)
He weights 6,8 kg ( 15 lb )

The largest captive D. couperi, I am aware of, is a male belonging to a private keeper in Minnesota. The indigo is 17 years old and last I heard it was just over 2.3m and weighed 7.6kg.
However, I have a D. m rubidus male that is just over 2.7m, with approximately 100mm of tail missing, weighing in at 9.3kg and I recently lost a male D. m erebennus that measured just over 2.7m and weighed 8.9kg...

Best regards,

Jeff

Thank you, Nazza,

He became a father for the first time yesterday as well! I arrived home from the office to find the female I had paired him with in her nest box with 15 eggs. I have another mottled female, paired with a different mottled male, which shoudln't be too far behind, so it could be a good year for mottled D. m rubidus
By the way, I am wiping the drool from my chin as i look at the photos of your D. couperi. While there might eb a few larger specimens out there, few are as nicely colored as yours are. I am going to have to look into the acquisition of international permiits for them, should you have any offspring to sell. ;0)

Thanks again,

Jeff
