    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Polyurethane or Pine?

I am building a new snake rack, for my ball pythons, out of pine plywood. My thought was to sand then seal, using polyurethane (minwax water based polycrylic) the underside of each shelf to protect the areas that the snakes will come into contact with. I assume a polyurethaned surface would be better a pine one. Any experience reguarding snakes coming into contact with pine or polyurethane (also poly brand or type) ,or any other relative information will be greatly appreciated.

I use animal plastics but I'm sure as long as all wood sides that will come in contact with the snake are smooth then it should be ok. You don't want any rough spots to be able to rub against the scales. Other than that I think polyurethaned surface would work better. Pine has oils that can be excreted that irritate reptiles.
