Saying possible female, since females tend to have narrower circles/dots, less distant from each other, when compared to males.

This species is originally from the horn of Africa, in Somalia. U. princeps inhabits coastal rocky plateaus of volcanic origin.
Their diet consists mainly of flowers and leaves/grasses. They usually bask in the early hours of the morning and late afternoons, and hide in rock crevices when threatened by potential predators, and during the warmest times of the day. They block the entrance of the crevice with their spiky tail.
