    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.

    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. Post Your Baby Dragons.

That Yellow/Lavender is very nice...those are some of my favorites dragon colors!

I don't know if its intentional or not but your pics are oversaturated Kevin.

Thanks Steven...I have to adjust the contrast to make-up for the bright flourescent lighting over my cages, but the picture that you just pointed out is exactly how the dragon looks. Didn't you just tell me that you made adjustments to your pictures too? I guess that's the difference between my $100 camera and your $5000 camera.

Photos can be ajusted to make them more accurate. Your ajustment is WAY off. You may need an updated computer screen. The dragon looks unnatural.

I have the latest and greatest computer screen. My screen colors are very accurate. Your method of photo editing is incorrect. This is somthing you should consider correcting.

In accurate photos from professionals misleads newbs.

Steven it might be better if you take your personal problems with Kevin's pictures to a private PM session.;)

Please don't soil this thread.

The dragon looks exactly like the picture shows it. My screen is about average and that's all I can to go by...

I quickly admit when I am wrong. Bring your dragon to a show or to the ranch for verification of color. I think anyone you bring it to will tell you your photo is WAY off. I have seen lots of your Dunners. I have bought more than anyone. I have seen pics of almost everyone you have sold this year. Nothing looks even close to these photos.

Based on all i know and from the un edited thumbnail. This is what I think is a more accurate image. Do you agree?

That picture is not even close. It looks washed-out and orange instead of red. The picture I posted is what the dragon looks like. And don't feed me your bullsit about having seen more than anybody, bought more than anybody, know more than anybody, or anything else. I have not sold a single animal from the clutch that this one came from so there is no way you could have seen one to campare it with. And really? Come to "the ranch" for verification? Don't flatter yourself. If you want to flame me, don't do it on this public form...or at least have the balls to answer the phone when i call you to discuss it. I'll tell everyone right now: I adjust my pictures to look as close to real life as possible. usually that amounts to saturating the picture to make up for overexposuer due to the bright lights I use. If you have a problem with that, too bad. The example you posted looks nothing like the dragon in person.

I couldn't disagree with you more Ed. If Kevin did enhance the color in the photo that much he should be called on it....that's deceptive.

Really Steven? Bringing up stuff from 4 years ago? I have had plenty of people call me and tell me that they have purchased animals from you, and that they look nothing like the photo. Plenty of people have told me that you misrepresented animals to them, but I always told them that dragons look different under different circumstances. I have directed numerous people to your web site to purchase dragons when I did not have what they were looking for. From now on I will just tell them what a P.O.S you are.

When I copy and paste the picture mine looks a lot different than the one pictured too.

mine too Jim. As I have stated before: I saturate the photos to compensate for the very bright lighting that I use, and to make the dragon look like I see it in person. Apparently, just because it looks true on my screen, it does not always look true on other's screens... I must say though, many times, my customers have told me that their dragon looks "even better than it does in the picture...". I'm not trying to fool anyone.

Yours and everyone else's.

I have heard that this is a problem with Kevin's animals however I myself have no first hand experience (nor do I plan on having any).

I have heard of one particular customer that when they weren't happy with the color of their dunner or that it never achieved the same brilliance as in the photos Kevin uploaded that it was due to the fact that he keeps them all outside and they are use to the natural sunlight.

We all know that dragons can change color, not look as bright, etc when stressed or under certain circumstances but what Steven has pointed out here seems to be a blatant misrepresentation of the animal. I don't see how anyone can argue that point.

Despite any past history or bad blood between the two of you, it is apparent that the photo in question was in fact "doctored" to make this dragon look much better. I don't see where Steven did anything wrong in pointing that out to everyone. I myself was blind to it up until this point. Calling Steven names and insulting his character only sheds worse light on you Kevin.

Despite it all, it's a nice looking dragon with a very defined stripe running down it's tail. One of the nicest I have seen thus far.

Easy way to solve this. Take a video of the dragon and post it on fb or ytube. Just have it move around a lot.

Warning: This is NOT the BOI! And calling people derogatory names is not permitted here.

I just have to say i am very surprised by this whole situation. I have done business with both steven and kevin recently. I asked about the dragons they have. I have asked Kevin about Stevens, and Steven about Kevins. Both had great things to say about eachother. I have gotten several pictures from kevin and have made several purchases and all wher true to color when i recieved them. It is a shame that to people i realy on for great dragons and information are now belittling eachother after having such great things to say about eachother only a few weeks ago. Everyone has an opinion and i feel that after so much time working together this really is dissapointing and could have been delt with differently. Everyone i would encourage you to deffenetly do your research and base your own opinion. All i ca say is that i have done lots of business with Kevin and have had no problems with color. I truely hope you guys can resolve this. And i enjoy business with both of you.
