    =====================

    I am still waiting on my developer to finish up on the Classifieds Control Panel so I can use it to encourage members into becoming paying members. Google Adsense has become a real burden on the viewing of this site, but honestly it is the ONLY source of income now that keeps it afloat. I tried offering disabling the ads being viewed by paying members, but apparently that is not enough incentive. Quite frankly, Google Adsense has dropped down to where it barely brings in enough daily to match even a single paid member per day. But it still gets the bills paid. But at what cost?

    So even without the classifieds control panel being complete, I believe I am going to have to disable those Google ads completely and likely disable some options here that have been free since going to the new platform. Like classified ad bumping, member name changes, and anything else I can use to encourage this site to be supported by the members instead of the Google Adsense ads.

    But there is risk involved. I will not pay out of pocket for very long during this last ditch experimental effort. If I find that the membership does not want to support this site with memberships, then I cannot support your being able to post your classified ads here for free. No, I am not intending to start charging for your posting ads here. I will just shut the site down and that will be it. I will be done with FaunaClassifieds. I certainly don't need this, and can live the rest of my life just fine without it. If I see that no one else really wants it to survive neither, then so be it. It goes away and you all can just go elsewhere to advertise your animals and merchandise.

    Not sure when this will take place, and I don't intend to give any further warning concerning the disabling of the Google Adsense. Just as there probably won't be any warning if I decide to close down this site. You will just come here and there will be some sort of message that the site is gone, and you have a nice day.

    I have been trying to make a go of this site for a very long time. And quite frankly, I am just tired of trying. I had hoped that enough people would be willing to help me help you all have a free outlet to offer your stuff for sale. But every year I see less and less people coming to this site, much less supporting it financially. That is fine. I tried. I retired the SerpenCo business about 14 years ago, so retiring out of this business completely is not that big if a step for me, nor will it be especially painful to do. When I was in Thailand, I did not check in here for three weeks. I didn't miss it even a little bit. So if you all want it to remain, it will be in your hands. I really don't care either way.

    =====================
    Some people have indicated that finding the method to contribute is rather difficult. And I have to admit, that it is not all that obvious. So to help, here is a thread to help as a quide. How to become a contributing member of FaunaClassifieds.

    And for the record, I will be shutting down the Google Adsense ads on January 1, 2025.
  • Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Post Your Baby Dragons.

His photos have been more accurate since the previous BOI post regarding oversaturation. I have been comfortable even refering people to him. I don't know why he decided to revert back to his old practice with this set of images... Steven Barnes

Honestly I have a couple of the red leather dunners! I see why he did it the pics i got didnt do them justice. It was possibly a bad move considering the replys but hey we are all people and make mistakes. I am am just thankfull to be breeding and working with such great people:)

I agree with you Barbie. Steven, I apologize for my remarks. It was never my intention to mislead people. Infact, I never even offered that animal for sale. I was only trying to show how colorful it is in person, so I added saturation to compensate for the overexposure that flourescent lights often cause...

It's called digital photo processing. Many more serious photographers shoot in RAW format these days and do all of the post image processing in Photoshop or other image editing programs. In general, you can compare it to a modern day darkroom.

Lovely dragons, everybody. I'm waiting on my very first clutch of "non gecko" lizard eggs top hatch over here, so hopefully in about a month I can post in this thread too (fingers crossed!)!

Good luck, Kelli!! I've got my first clutch of 2012 in the incubator, but they're only a couple of weeks old. Can't wait to have more pics to share, too!!! :D

Regardless.. Its the first Dunner I have seen that I'd ever buy considering their prices. I think the big thing the "morph" which it really isn't.. brings I think is the change in paterns. As of now, there are no "WOW!" looking dunners based purely on color anyways, its been the'r paterns that have intrigued people. This most recent one is pretty awesome and the first time I think I really appreciated them for what they could offer as far as the future goes..

I hope more is focused on that trait rather than the funky (aka Ugly imo) deformed spikes etc that the normals offer. Its about time we go back to making "designer/fancy dragons" in ways that make them unique.. This solid color cookie cutter dragon phase we are in now I hope passes quickly.

I'm with you on that Cowabunga! I couldn't care less about the funky scales. The thing I like is the unusual pattern that they have. The tail stripes are cool, the lack of side bars and dots/stripes on the back are cool, and the spotted legs are cool too...and the pattern stands out even more on the leatherbacks.

Dunners are awesome, thru and thru. I have yet to meet anyone that does not point first to my dunners and say "This one is my favorite." Even next to striking citruses, reds, etc, dunners are unanimously the most intriguing morph in my dragon room. Dwarfs make steep competition with the dunner in the peoples favorite awards ;)

Dunners are new though, be patient and don't write them off yet, in a couple years there will be a dunner for everybody ;)

I love the spikes and I like that everyone has a different opinion, when everyone does their own thing there is much more variety and passionate hobbyists.

Sorry I know this post is not abut the Dunners ;) But after seeing these very same animals in person (pictured from Dden) and how much more continuous the lined pattern is that some of the others clutches, it made me think. Leatherback also being a dom/co-dom gene tends to produce more of the same as the parent. To me leathers seem to progress in smoothness as time went on by selection. I think the dunner pattern will just progress further! Also I did see the baby in person and in the interest of fairness it was very close to the original pic (at least on my calibrated monitor) everyones monitors are different ;)

Beth, it would certainly be cool if so. It seems to be very inconsistent though, such a variety I would hate to lose the many different spectacles in hand. Crossing two dunners and if it is codom a full or more refined stripe seems much more likely.look at tigers and super tiger retics. LOL. I have no idea though, I can only dream about it at this point.

Here's two I'm holding back, for now..........:thumbsup:
