• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I actually created this on one of my other sites, but it will suffice here, I think..

Whenever you start a new post, whether it is a NEW thread or a REPLY to an existing thread, below the section where you type in your text will be a section called Additional Options. In that section will be an area that says Attach Files

Just click on that button that says Manage Attachments

That will take you to a screen that offers you four prompts with a BROWSE button to the right of each of them. Plus there is a display of valid file types that can be uploaded as well as the limitations on each file type.

Click on the BROWSE button, which will display a folder on your hard drive in your own computer so you can find the file that you want to upload.
attach03.jpg

It is up to you to locate that file, but I assume you will know where you put it on your own hard drive in your system.

After you click on that file you want to attach, and it is then displayed in the area that says File name:, you then click on the Open button on that screen to close it and tell the system here the file you want to attach.

At this time, you can either select three other files to attach in the same method as above, or if there is only one single file to be attached, you then click on that UPLOAD button to actually upload the file from your computer to the server here. PLEASE NOTE: This is the step that people will commonly forget to do and think the system did not do what it was supposed to do. Until you click that UPLOAD button, the file is not yet up on the server.

So once you have successfully uploaded the file you want to attach, you will see a screen similar to this:

If you are done attaching all files, then simply click on the Close this window button to return you to the screen where you are entering in the text of your message. Please note that you will NOT see the photo at this time within the text area of your message you are typing in. The only indication you will see of your attached file(s) at this time will be the name of the file displayed in that Attach Files area of your current screen. Please note that attached files will display at the BOTTOM of your message you are typing.

When you are done typing in your message, simply click on the Submit Reply button, and your photo should be displayed within the message you just typed in.

So, that's IT!

Why can't this be done on a smart phone, I don't have a computer and I have uploaded photos before with my phone but now I can't, did something change?

I can only get it to post one photo per ad using this method. It doesn't matter how many i select to upload, only one shows up. Am I doing something wrong?

are you doing it via a phone? Other users have reported a limit of one photo upload when accessing this site via their mobile device. That could explain it.

I guess "hkhkjhkj" means "Islamabad" in Pakistani.

If it walks like a spammer, talks like a spammer.......

Quick question, are you able to send photos via PMs? I think I have tried before and couldn't figure it out. I don't believe there was a "Go Advanced" option when I was sending a PM. Thanks for yalls help

In case you don't know what I mean, here's a screenshot. The link outlined in red is the one that'll put the picture directly into the PM. The other options provide a link that will open a browser window/tab to your photobucket library, which will allow the PM's recipient to scroll through the rest of the pictures you have in there.

Sorry, I just can't remember all of the options available in vBulletin, but I don't believe there is any option to allow or disallow attached files along with private messages. Best you can do, as has been suggested, is to use the IMG tag to embed images from a file storage facility directly into your messages.

Syntax would be:

[IMG] ** photo URL ** [/IMG]

for the past week every time I try to post a classified, the picture upload comes back with a http 500 error and will not let me. I can embed them, but it does not show a thumbnail on the ad. Is there a way around this?

I haven't heard of this problem from anyone else. And it looks like there have been a goodly number of ads placed here using file attachments within this past week. I also created one of my own to test the functionality -> http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1926098#post1926098

So it seems to be working for me. And as far as I can tell, a lot of other people. :shrug01:

Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I'm not familiar with that error; but one of the most common issues people have is the image size being too large
