In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ouch! Looks like the storm is supposed to speed up a bit and maybe be making landfall at my back door on Tuesday, 10/09. :ack2:

Sometimes the fact that weather forecasts are usually wrong is really something to look forward to.

I am hoping that it is not a killer 'cane both for your sake, and also because a few days later I am planning to move back to the Gulf area.:ack2:

The NOAA hurricane center currently only lists a 20% probability of this forming a cyclone over the next 5 days, and a 0% chance over the next 48 hours. I suspect the most this storm may turn into is a weak tropical storm.

Looks like the forecast has moved landfall on next Tuesday night further west. So keep an eye on it Lucille. Hopefully it will be a nothing burger.

Yeah, this is the GEM model in Ventusky showing the hurricane development. The GFS model shows nothing at all developing.

So who knows? :shrug01: I guess they all have their separate dart boards to use.

According to NOAA, the formation chance for this potential tropical storm through the next 5 days now stands at 70%.

Oh, and Ventusky is now showing a potential additional tropical storm forming south of Cuba a week from now, too. Not showing much motion though to give any good idea of where it is going to be eventually headed.

I have to say I am glad that Leslie has stayed parked out in the middle of the Atlantic.

Now named tropical storm Michael. Likely to become a hurricane in a couple of days.

Yeah, after Irma this year this really sucks. I might get a 7 day weekend out of the deal though, I doubt schools will be open tomorrow or Thursday, and why have Friday open when this weekend was our fall break anyway? Now watch, I'll be spending all my time bucking trees that fall, and hopefully on nothing important.

It does appear the Michael is going to cause some destruction although it does not appear headed for Texas. But you know how that goes, sometimes these storms have a mind of their own and do not docilely travel the paths made for them by weather experts.
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in its path.

BTW I did claim last years flood disaster with the IRS, and while it did not of course cover my losses (I lost half of everthing I had) they did accept my deduction and I received a generous tax break.

It's amazing how fast this one blew up from a tropical storm to CAT 4 landfall in under 72 hours.

I hope everyone down there stays safe and had time to get out of the way.

Indeed, Rich. Once you can do so safely, keep us posted on how you are doing down there. None of the reports I've seen from down there look good.
