    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Prehistoricpets?????????

I've heard a lot of bad things about Prehistoric Pets in Fountain Valley and a few good things so I had to go and check it out for myself. The entire store smelled like feces. All the cages were VERY dirty and most were over crowded. They had several 3-4 foot colubrids in shoebox size cages (or smaller). I would NEVER go there again or purchase an animal from them.

When I got my albino ball from them, She wasn't wanting to eat at all for me. I called them up and asked why was she not eating? They asked what size cage she was in. I told them 10 gallon, then they told me she is used to a shoe size box and try to put her in a 5 gallon tank. I felt really bad for her due to that she was a little to big to fit in a 5 gallon tank.

Not flawless but still a good transaction

I ordered a male yellow belly bp from them over the weekend last. The add stated 500g+. When i emailed them Patrick Powers promptly emailed me back to tell me that they didnt have one over 500g anymore but that they had one that was 480g. We worked out a deal and I sent him the money. We kept close communication everyday as steps were taken until the end. Patrick answered all my questions promptly and the snake was shipped as soon as they recieved my check (with my permision of course). My male arrived this morning. So far everything looks good. The male is indeed 484g and looks like a true yellow belly.

The only flaw is that they didnt send me the photo ID and receipt that they had previously agreed to include. That always makes me a little nervous because I expect that documentation whenever I make an expensive purchase.

If I recieve the documentation soon then I will return and give them an A
If not, then I can only give them a B because I did at least get the snake I asked for.

about 2 years ago i purchased a hogg island boa from prehistoric. not a huge purchase or anything, but it came with allot of mites and was pretty much dead when i opened the package. i cant blame them for the almost dead part, they shipped it in a snow storm and i was too new at the hobby to know any better at that point. when i got it i assumed it was dead because it was limp when i picked it up, but then its tongue flicked once so i heald it until it became warm and it snapped out of it and never had a problem, i told prehistoric about this the next day only to get an email back saying thanks for the business and sorry about the mites... i find it highly unlikely that you should worry about fake hets or something of that nature from prehistoric but if you buy from them dont be surprised if your snake has mites. but you also have to think of their situation, they run a huge 10,000 sq foot pet store or something around that size, there are animals in and out all the time, i could imagine a mite problem becomming overwhealming very rapidly...
