    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Bad Guy Premium Crickets

I was just curious about how long it would take to measure and seperate over 1000 crickets. Remember only about 1 dozen were 3/8", maybe that would explain getting the crickets on friday, and not posting until the following thursday. :shrug01:

On a side note, I have noticed people are much more polite and courteous in person than they are behind a keyboard. I wonder why that is.....
 
Slightly undersized/oversized crix happens from time to time. Within reason this is to be expected and is acceptable. We are not dealing with shoes, shirts or cup sizes here. We are talking about rapidly growing insects.

With that being said, I have had an issue or two over the years with grossly undersized crix. Order 1/2" and get mostly 1/4". Not acceptable. And I too got the exact same BS about "we will make it right on the next order". That is not acceptable to me, they screwed up THIS order, fix THIS order.

They didnt get this order right, nor want to fix it, but I am supposed to send them more of my money for them to make it right. Reward them with more orders for screwing up my last order..... yeah that makes sense. And lets just hope they dont screw this order up too. Or else I will have to send them even more money for them to make it right.

Needless to say I never bought from them again.

The above quote is from the rules for posting here on the BOI and should answer both of the above quotes/questions. If not, while you are rather new here you may not be aware that when someone refuses to repeatedly answer questions or provide e-mails and other information they are usually full of crap. You obviously either do not want to be taken seriously or are full of crap. The law of averages would lean towards the latter.

Well I guess that is all in the way things are taken. You obviously had issue with posts and seems you felt your were being insulted. While some were and some weren't I feel your post (#31) which was directed towards myself and others and was done so in a manner which was condescending and insulting.

I don't think that this is a legit bad guy thread at all, the box of crickets was shipped promptly even tho a bit undersize.he tried to resolve it with her but she wanted more than he offered her so she runs here and slams him, I bet she threatened him with a BOI thread before she posted here.

She presents no proof of what she is saying and adds not much more than whining about having to pay a phone bill to call him to complain.

I guess the next complaint from her will be that someone owes her the cost of the electricity to run the computer.
 
The seller's resolution reminds me of when I got a defective paint job on my new car. After 1 year when the paint started flaking off, I took it to the dealership and they offered to give me $200.00 off of a $1400.00 paint job. I declined to give them $1200.00 more of my money, figuring if they couldn't get it right the first time, why give them a second shot at my expense? Same thing with the crickets....why send good money after bad?

That is not really a similar analogy in my opinion. If you ordered 100 large mice, and received 100 med mice instead, it does not mean the mice were of bad quality (like the paint job)
I agree with Sammy, cricket size/length is not a science, they do not stretch their legs out and measure to the millimeter. Maybe you received small 1/2", a few days later they would sell out of the same bin, and they might be large 1/2"
Crickets can grow from 1/4" to 1/2" in less than 1 week.
 
Chuck, I think you are missing my point. The law supersedes store policy. Law requires that you actually send the item that you are paid for in a sale - not a similar item of less value to the customer. If the customer pays for an item and then is sent a different item, then it is the seller who violated the policy that is required by law for all businesses who operate legally. Therefore the issue becomes bigger than store policy and should be made right asap.

No one in their right mind is going to make a $15 issue a legal matter, but store shipping policy simple doesn't matter in this case. The wrong item was sent. Legally the correct item should be sent or a refund should be issued. Offering a discount if they spend money with you again does not meet their legal obligations, and the customer certainly has the right to accept, decline, or make a counter offer to anything proposed by the seller who sent the wrong item.

You may want to research it and confirm that I am correct (really there is no reason to waste your time on it.) but I am pretty sure that in a court of law that selling an item and then sending a different item, then refusing to send the correct item or issue a refund is fraud.

Not a valid point as there is probably no price difference. maybe a little more value in the 3/8" crickets (if thats actually what she has recieved) crickets are measured in volume plastic cone measurers and I'm sure she got a hefty over count with the size differencs(if there actually was a size difference).

Good point and very true, in a box of 1/2" crickets they can be a lil smaller or larger and also a mixed box of sizes that are all close to 1/2" thats the nature of the business.
 
There is not a price difference, but there is a value difference. If I order a $50 cat and they send me a $50 dog. I did not receive the correct item. I did not get the value that I paid for. Price is not relevant. I can tell by your post that you are smarter than that. Are you this guys friend?
 
I only got to page 3 on this thread when I saw several people jumping all over the original poster here and throwing a bunch of derogatory statements into the mix as well. Those people can expect some infraction points when I get a chance to go through this thread again.

And while I am thinking of it, no one here besides the mods and myself have any authority whatsoever to decide whether or not a thread is justified being on the BOI. But I'm seeing a subset of members piping up more and more frequently making the claim about this or that thread not being worthy of being on the BOI. If someone feels that their own circumstance warrants a thread being here, in their opinion, and it is not moved OUT of here by myself nor the mods, that that is all that matters concerning that sort of decision. That is THEIR opinion, and it carries no more weight then your own opinion. I would greatly prefer that not much bandwidth on this site be expended solely for such discussions concerning whether the thread really belongs here or not. As best I can recall, I never placed any specific limitations nor criteria for what threads are justified being placed on the BOI. I would prefer this to be the avenue of last resort in a bad deal, but there certainly is no REQUIREMENT for that to be the case. And quite certainly, since the purpose of the BOI was often to simply warn other purchasers about the risk they MAY take in dealing with someone, in a lot of cases, the point at which someone may think such a warning may be warranted is certainly a personal opinion that not everyone will agree with, but valid fare on the BOI nonetheless.

That being said, I would greatly prefer to NOT see people here inflict derogatory criticism on the original poster simply because their opinion might differ from yours. Certainly examples abound where an earlier warning against someone would have been much better then one that was given too late. Just as there have been some examples of someone crying "WOLF" somewhat prematurely.

So unless you are omniscient and can tell the ones that are early warnings from those that may be just a bit premature, then let's not jump all over someone who really doesn't know what the case may be either in wanting to express their concerns here. Otherwise we will have less and less people willing to give that early warning and the wolf they failed to warn us about very well may bite YOU in the ass as a result.

Hey ed though i tend to respect and agree with some things you say i have to point out that this particular post is off. This post is no less a legitimate BOI post than your post concerning SYR. :shrug01: just sayin
 
I purchased 1000 3/4" crickets at.the Tampa expo and the boxes were poorly assembled allowing almost have the amount to escape at the show and after I got home... I am having to let the Beardies to roam my bedroom to eat the crickets that hide from me after escaping.... I used them as a last resort and never again will I purchase from them as I have a long term excellent experience all the time with flukers... plus there were over 200 lil clean up worms who now have spread thru all my bins and have started multiplying and litterally eating the legs off the crickets and killing them (from premium crickets box of crickets that is)....
