    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I was wondering if y'all thought this would help at keeping rodents good for longer periods of time in the freezer.

Usually the rodent packs come vacuumed sealed but once you have to use the pack the seal is broken and for those with less animals to feed it could mean the pack is open for 2 or 3 months. What if once the seal is broken, you wrap each rodent in a couple layers of serran wrap. Would this help preserve the rodent longer? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks

I don't know if saran wrap would help but I have been told that rodents should be alright in the freezer for 7 to 10 months. I have also heard up to a year :shrug01: I only have 7 boas so I am in the same boat as you. What I have done is purchase a vaccum sealer and any time I open a sealed bag I (my girlfriend that is) vaccum seals the rest of the rodents. Might cost a bit for the sealing bags but I would rather have the freshest rodents I can get that won't make any of my snakes sick because the rodent went bad.

I would just put them in a good ziplock freezer bag, and remove as much air as you can, and seal them up. They do make those ziplocks now that you attach a little pump to, and it draws the air out, haven't used one, but it may be what you need.Good luck. Casey

I don't mean to drag up an old post, but I used to have a rodent guy that would use freezer paper to wrap rodents in and would them seal them in a bag. Never had one get even the least bit of freezer burn. I have since moved and had to use different sources, but I'm pretty sure I'll be going back to freezer paper in freezer bags soon. Keeps things orderly as well as fresh.
