As stated before, the seller did not list an actual price for the snake. He just said " so and so " amount per gram. That is the reason the ad was pulled and this quote from KS's TOS is what it applies to.

That above line is open to so much interpretation it is a joke. How hard is it to write, "All snakes for sale have to have an exact dollar amount and cannot be sold by the gram." It took me a whole whopping two seconds to think that up and it elminates all confusion. The phrase "realistic price" as I take it means you can't sell an albino ball python for $300.00 on KS, because they are normally going for $1100 to $1500. That $300 price tag wouldn't be realistic to the current market on KS and so KS would tell them they have to raise it, or they are gonna get the boot. I agree with Ben... If he can't sell by the gram then Flexwatt heat tape sellers have to list every single price per foot so they will have "realistic prices" according to KS TOS.

1 foot = $2.00
2 feet = $4.00
3 feet = $6.00
and so on.

Billy, you have to remember how this whole thing started. KS told Ben his prices weren't "reasonable." As in they were either to low or to high!

Forgot one more thing -

Why should Ben have to apologize or retract his statement about KS in order to get his account back, if the confusion that started this whole thing was caused by THEIR LACK OF CLARITY? I wouldn't apologize for bringing this to the BOI if I were you, Ben (not that you were necessarily going to).

If anything, let this be a lesson (if KS moderators are reading this thread) to use clarity and polite consideration when drafting emails to CLIENTS. Which is what Ben was until this happened. Bad business.
 
Racketeering laws have provisions against price-fixing which drives up the cost of products causing consumers to suffer.

Kingsnake would be breaking Federal Law if they try to control the prices put on other's items/animals. I hope they realize this.
 
Look guys it is real easy. Censorship doesn't work. Socialism doesn't work. Allot of things in markets don't work but our economy is based on a free enterprise system and Josh should be alble to sell his snakes by the kilo if he wants too...:) You go brother. That is ridiculous. You see Josh is one of the good guys and he handles some other animals and that is fine. He tells you and his prices are great on what he sells. I would buy snakes from him. I wouldn' buy snakes from 75% of the people in this industry that I did becasue of bad experiences. People don't have them people like us and Josh. It is what it is. Good for you Josh and for all you haters maybe you shoudl move to a socialistic economy where everything is the same and noone has any motivation to do anything like bring markets to new levels. Or do tv shows . Or attract major attention to ball pythons through new ways not just doing it the old outdated ways. Make animals cheaper and give them away to make money with the animals. That is right not screwing the public. What these people don't understand is the buying public doesn't want to pay more and wants a great deal. Not this seedy crap. Everything out in the open. There is no more buying a 25k snake and stamping them out and making that 25k a snake year after year when bred to a normal. THey were all too much money in the begining. We all wanted to py it. I was the biggest one. Now it is all crap. Asnake that is rare is expensive with us. If it isn't it is not period. But listen people if you don't want to breed and want to make money. Don't buy the snake. You need to buy a homo male and 4 or 5 het females to make it owrk. Even an albino and a het. Maximize your males people. They can get up to 6 or seven when they are seasoned but Wes doesn't stretch [ast 5 sice we have so many homozygous breeder males. By the way I got some pranks from Tinley Park by some breeders who wouldn't tell me who they were. THey put me on the loudspeaker at the auctionm they were having and I told thenm that they just need to take care of the consumer and stop trying to screw them and they would be alright...:) THey were calling me about 30 times and I am sure more to tonight which I am up dealing with Europe. Then they were asking me inventory questions. People we have tons of snakes and we will give you way to make money and have fun. Codoms aren't rare simple recessives re period. Wait untill the next segment comes out. People calling me names but not telling me there names cowards. Now they were complaining becasue they couldn't screw you on codoms period. If you were paying too much and we weren't around then there would be no prank calls. I think it is funny. These people are supposed to be industry leaders and not telling me. I hjeard the auction in the background and reference to breeders. I can't respect somone when they won't tell me who they are. You see I all about Respect. People that no me really no that. I am relentless and reolved. We are here for the buying public and I will be selling your kids snkaes at great prices and they won't pay too much from us. Thanks everybody and I am sure you understand how cowardly that is. Tell me who you are friends...:) No balls period. One guy asked me why shoudl I buy from you when the codom is going down. I told him If I sell a bumble bee to some I want to make s sure they ahave pastel females so they can stamp the unrare cool snakes out like we are and make money. So they have 5 pastel females make 15 or 20 bees plus killer bees and tell me about making money....:) You see you have to sell a package not a snake to do something with. Wes and I feel like failures if our customers don't produce and that is why we are bringing you through a whople season of in depth breeding and question and answer so everyone learns. I want to teach everybody and really have a ton of people to sell to rather than keeping it a secret. It is ridiculous. We are doing things differently and our for the consumers not for our competition. Thatnks for all the business and we will keep banging for the 98% that loves us and we love them back....:)

Enough with this being todl what to do crap. This is not Russia. I won't be a part of it. That is why I have my own thing and it will be the next big thing you watch..;) I am oing to keep giving away awesome snakes untill it is. That is right people..:) That is how much I believe in it. We are having a ball too. Get over the unrare codoms. Just bteed them. I paid 18,500 for a pinstripe last year that is 300 grams and not breeding that is worth 1000.00 I did this for that reason period. I will still make money ith him. I will just have to breed it for a year and sell most of the offspring to pay it back. Big deal. Know more of that crap. I am for the consumer and will protect them from high prices on snakes that don't justify it. I think I am going to get a MKR suit a cape and wear it on my show and bash high prices...:) While showing my customers ways to make money and that is what is what is important. You can still make strong money in codoms if you do it right. Ask my customers they know...:)

I am giving away an albino femael and a het male. Next I am giving away a cinny female not a male either. So I guess you are dead wrong. That is alright. I hope you win them. IF I get the hankering I will give away something much more than that. When I do a huge sales drive you can bet that everyone who buys something will have a chance to win a real clown or genetic stripe or a caramel. On a million dollar drive I will probably give one of each homozyogus male away and that is the truth. I think big for the consumer so a guy that buys anything in that 20 day drive will have a shot at it. You see I am for real and that is why we sell so many snakes and take care of so many people and make them happy. Noone walks away with a sad face from us. It is like when you buy a car and you have a chance to win a big sreen tv at the end of the month excpt on special occaisons I will do snakes and expensive ones too...:) Thanks and it is advertisning also. i don't see them giving away heavy snakes anywhere else to take a test drive. Plus the tv. What ever stay you want. We are having a great time doing what we are doing. Good luck winning the snakes..:)

No, this is not Russia. But this is NOT someplace where you can hijack every thread you want to in order to post your thinly veiled infomercials. I know you think the free advertising is just great for you and more power to you in that respect, but ENOUGH is ENOUGH. There are avenues available to you in order to advertise on this site, if that is your goal in being here. But what you are doing in this forum is NOT appreciated nor will it be tolerated any longer. The BOI is NOT to be used for this sort of blatant advertising. You currently have two active threads on the BOI you are participating in, and now you have decided to hijack this one as well. This sort of activity will cease, NOW.

I do hope this is fully understood.
 
Did you contact KS? I had the same thing happen and I got angry too, so I emailed them. They replied saying they made a mistake and reposted the ad.....
 
Hi Guys, I am back. I was in Orlando this weekend looking at a used tunnel washer(tryign to speed up box washing!!)

I wanted to say kudos to liquid leaf's post #100, that is exactly what I was trying to say/get across. That is probably the clearest portrayal of what when on here.

In my opinion it shouldn't have been. I say it only because I don't see an initial strong desire for any real clarity on what KS found objectionable to the listings. Assumption and frustration caused this thread.

I have to agree with Chuck on this one. If it wasn't clear then Ben should have clarified it before choosing the title for this thread. A couple of unanswered Emails requesting clarification does not automatically equal prce fixing. In fact, since he was reasonably certain that the formula he was using would put the animals at a good approximation of "market" price, price fixing should have been pretty far down the list of reasons for Kingsnake to have a problem with his ad.

I'm not saying they responded properly here. I'm just saying that the situation was severely escalated by Ben prior to the facts being in.

Well, how about the opinion, stated here by many here who have to function in the reptile business world, that Ben's post was one or more of the following:

1) an escalation;
2) an assumption;
3) innacurate;
4) libelous.

Alicia, price fixing is a very serious accusation. Some here want to harbor the opinion that KS is as bad as Ben says, and that is their option. But maybe the best answer to your question is that, considering Ben's assertion would not hold up under the least bit of legal scrutiny, that "Kingsnake said so". In accordance with their TOS, and the law, it was their account to extend or retract, was it not ?
 
Why not post KS was a bad guy for deleting ads and gave a vague reason.

That porbably would have caused less friction.

Although I would still like to know why the TOS states "a realistic price or price range" but yet if you price it by the gram, they delete it and quote the TOS that says "prices must be in dollars" which is NOT in the TOS.

Sounds like there is a disconnect bewteen what the KS TOS says and what the mods are enforcing.
