    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ok i am really interested in Uromastyx. I have done alot of research over the past 4 months and i believe i am finally ready to get my first. What uro do you guys recommend for a first uro?
 
For a first time uro, you cannot go wrong with a Mali. They are relatively inexpensive, about $70. I purchased mine for $35 locally. Mali's are also very social with humans. They are probably the least expensive, other species can run upwards of $500.
 
Well, the guy was desperate to move him (Kiros) out because this Mali was so mean to the other uros, which they happened to be Egyption Uros. Kiros would beat them all up and just wanted to live alone. I am not sure if the guy knew he was housing different species together. Fortunately, Kiros loves being around humans and cats, so he fit right in with us.
 
I still go to that show to see my Dart Frog guy Bill Weirts.....so maybe i can get there this saturday i think.....i hope they have someone who knows about Uro's.....i'll finish setting my tank up incase they do have someone.

Mali's are a great starter uro I agreee, My Best pair of Mali's I got the female from Deer Fern farms, And my male I got for 50 from a private seller, I generally sell my baby's for 40 adults 60... But if you look around on classifieds you can sometimes find good deals...Just be sure of what you are buying first. I personally like reptiel expo's because then I can see what I am buying and talk with who I am buying it from....Plus I always worry when they are being shipped (I always think they are gonna suffercate or get squished) Okay I am rambling now its early lol
 
The problem with a reptile show is that if you do not have enough money you will be kicking yourself because there is an animal you want but you are short on the cash. On the other hand, if you take too much money, you will find ways to spend it all without knowing it.
 
Don't forget about saharans. They are very beautifully colored for a relitively small price tag. Not to mention they are just as hardy as Malis and actually easier to breed.
