• Responding to email notices you receive.
    **************************************************
In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Pride... apparently nonexistent?

I only wish it was, but I've had two or three. Maybe they get taken up on cold calling phone line jobs or something, but it sure doesn't work in a science based job where you have to write reports......

I know i have no room to talk about someone else's grammar so i will talk about mine..lol., i always misspell words, rarely use punctuation on forums or chat. it has nothing to do with pride or lack of it. it is simply because i am trying to hurry to respond and dont expect to be judged by people who dont know me,never have or never will meet me. i am just not one of those people who have so much free time that i can sit and read someones post so closely that i count every misspelled word. (if i can read it then its right to me.) as you can see by what i am writing now unless i am in a business setting where i am being graded on my grammar, i could care less.
btw: this is just my 2 cents on myself it is not about anyone else and how they decide how to do things. with all the actual real problems that i do have, having "correct grammar" is the least of my worries.

You're right; no one knows you and never will meet you. The only impression people online can get from you is your ability to piece together sentences. It's great that people's opinions on you don't have much sway in you being yourself or not, but remember that the only part of you anyone will know online is your typing.

i do try very hard to make sure i stand out from everyone else, it works and thats what makes me..me.........i do actually have an ed-u-ma-cation i just chose to leave it at the back door from time to time, ok most of the time.... lmmfao@myself

I think we're all guilty of typos ( I certainly am a rotten typist and there's normally a few reversed letter in any of my messages), and I don't think that you should have to regard forum posts as grammatical exams. As long as you communicate what you want to say, it is ridiculous to be picked up on where your apostrophes go.

However, I have to say that, rightly or wrongly, if a post contains really bad grammar and spelling, especially if you're trying to sell something, it reduces your credibility as a reliable or professional person.

I agree with you there.

It's great that you have such confidence in yourself that you can feel that way but the fact is that even though you don't expect to be judged you will be judged. Granted it may be by people who, in the grand scheme of things, don't really matter, but the fact remains you are being judged. It is clear that it doesn't bother you and again your self confidence is admirable but how are those doing the judging to know that your caviler attitude toward this behavior on forums or chats does not carry over into a business setting. If all we have to go on is the way people act in these forums how can we not expect the same thing when it comes to something important. It may be shallow to not be able to imagine people can behave differently but that is the way it is with most people. I'm not saying everyone needs to be perfect. I know I am far from it. I am aware of most of my faults but like you I sometimes choose not to care. I also understand full well your comment of people who don't know me,never have or never will meet me I think too many people put too much stock into the opinions of anonymous people the will never ever meet. On the other hand how can you be so sure that those of us who are so insignificant (my word not yours) may not become more significant in the future. I just prefer to err on the side of caution.

:iagree:...your right, you got me, i agree.

"I think too many people put too much stock into the opinions of anonymous people the will never ever meet. On the other hand how can you be so sure that those of us who are so insignificant (my word not yours) may not become more significant in the future."

I hate to admit it but i do agree 100% with you on that last statement. Its one of those "you never know" things. i have met alot of wonderful people in person from off the internet. we all have our flaws, and no one is perfect. a true friend will be there inspite of those flaws. I do think that making a good first inperson impression is very important. I wouldnt go meet someone in my night clothes, (sorry didnt mean to give ya a bad mental picture lol) i would however talk to them online that way. i guess what im trying to say is there is a very big difference (to me that is) between online and in person.

and thank you for what i took as nice comments.
