I am needing to sell my setup and two Redtails. This is the ad I put on Craigslist. I am posting here because Craigslist is what it is and I want these guys to be taken care of. I am in Calera AL, which is just south of Birmingham, AL. This is my first post here, basically because I am not in the habit of selling pets, so if I missed any prerequisite, please let me know. $500 for everything
For re-homing is a breeding pair of Red Tail Boas and their enclosure. It's two separate enclosures. Both are 48X24X18. the bottom enclosure is a one-off with a custom built in pedestal. The pedestal is 14" tall. They came from http://www.constrictorsnw.com/home.html. These are superior Boaphile enclosures due to the material they are made from. Unlike Boaphile, they are non-porous so they will not end up smelling like pee and poop after a few years. Both enclosures have a radiant heat panel from http://pro-products.com/pro-heat/ . Custom sized for these enclosures and each has a separate THERMOstat, not some crappy cheap rhenostat. Both enclosures have 12" florescent lighting . The upper enclosure has custom 3-d rock background from Universal Rock. These are hands down, the nicest, best equipped and most constantly regulated (humility and temp) enclosures you are going to find. They are both vented from the back. You will NEVER have to worry about your temps or humidity.
The larger boa is a male normal Red Tail. No idea of the local. He was a rescue. He is right at 6' long and heavy. Beautiful animal. About three years old from what we have been able to gather about him.
The smaller boa is a female Hypo. She is a different local, but again, no idea from where. She is two years old and growing quickly. They are both hand tame. I do not use hooks and I feed in their enclosure. They are extremely docile animals. Of course you must respect your animals and be able to read them, but neither has ever been nippy or struck.
BOTH of these animals are teddy bear tame. They are hand trained, no need for hooks and they have never attempted to strike. BUT they are snakes, treat them with respect and you will not have a problem. Do not be a dumb ass or they probably will try to eat you.
