    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Looks like you are offering the same iguana that is listed on your "rescue" page for sale.

"This Iguana is a probable male but we can not be certain as he has not reached sexual maturity yet. He came to us from a woman who had worked for the Humane Society and rescued him before they can put him down. They had kept him as a family pet and just did not have the time for him anymore. He is about 2 Years old. He can be a bit agressive because he has not had the handling he needs. He is NOT AVAILABLE at the moment as he is a little thin. We would like to fatten him up and tame him a little before putting him up for adoption. We are accepting adoption applications for him."

So, you rescued this iguana from the chopping block? Did you want to "rehab" him, or make a quick buck?

He will not be going to just anyone. That is the reason why I have stated all offers by PM only. I want him to go to a good home. I do not have a price on him as I shouldn't. However he has cost me over $200 in vet bills and food alone. I am not looking to get anything close to that for him. So making a quick buck is out of the question. I have been on FaunaClassifieds for the past few months and have noticed that the mojority of people here are experienced handlers, so I thought I would put him up on here. As for the trade part of my add, if I where to come across somebody willing to trademe something I would like for my personal collection I will trade him (but not at his safety he will still need an experienced handler. I am privately funded and have put my heart out to animals of all sorts. I have taken a major financial loss starting this rescue and realize I will continue to come out of pocket as long as it is open. Thank You for your concern and I am sorry if this was betrayed the wrong way. If you have anymore questions I would be more than happy to answer them.

Since most will look at this add and decide I am not really being legit about things here, I have decided to speak numbers openly.

Gas to drive 1hr 25min one way to pick him up is about $12 bothways $24

Food consumed on a daily basis is about $4 the month and 3 days I have had him is $140

His Vet Bill was only $58

Then you have to figure in his use of the supplies I have had on hand (ie substrate, heat and UV light bulbs, etc) Substrate is estimated to be about $1 dollar per change depending on the obvious variables, and lights last about 6 months or so and can be used with more than one animal depending on how ling they have been with us.

On top of all that you have to concider the electricty costs to run everything and the water costs to water and clean them.

Not counting all the supplies, electricity and water costs (some supplies are donated) he has cost me around $222. His adoption fee is $65 with a $5 application proccessing fee, for a total Adoption fee of $70. I lose $152+ out of my pocket but I am not complaining.

If anyone would wish to make a cash offer on him, it will have to be acompanied by an adoption application found on my web site. I will still consider trades for him as I am the sole owner of StevensExotics and StevensExotics Reptile Rescue (in the proccess of becoming 501(c)3 non-profit) and am willing to take a further lose for a good trade as long as he is still going to a experienced handler.
