    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Problems with new gecko...advice

I am glad it is doing better and you are willing to nurse it back to health. It was probably just not doing well and mistreated but I am glad it is in better hands now! I am glad you are a responsible and caring person. :thumbsup:

Ditto. Kudos to you for doing right by that gecko. If she is at least 20-25g she could do half a dozen of those half inch crix. Get the vet to look it up for you. You can try some waxworms, silkworms, roaches, butter worms, whatever you can find. Prob supers are not a good idea for a young gecko. She will be fine, is in very good hands

What are butter worms? The bait store had something called "spikes"... looked something like a waxworm. (They had the wax's too so I didn't get the spikes. He (the bait store guy) wondered if they would take box elder bugs?

I'm not sure about either of those....
My vet told me they can eat pretty much any bug they can catch, except spiders of course. I have seen and heard of leopard geckoes eating all of the following: crickets, roaches, superworms, mouse pinks, cicadas, silkworms, hornworms, grasshoppers, beatles, maggots, earthworms, butterworms, houseflies, moths, waxworms, pretty much any kind of insect larvae of appropriate size. No ants, spiders, centipedes, or any other species that may carry venom or high acid. If she is the size I think she is, most of this is off the list. Prey items should be no more than 3/4 the length of her head, and no wider than about 1/3 the width of her throat. Since she may also still be recovering, if you can, try to stick to the softer foods. Quite a few of these are available online, if you buy a quantity. Did you get her weight? Is she getting calcium and pooing ok? You should start to see her visibly fatten in the next week or so (if you haven't already). And she should be perking up as she recovers from the stress of the move(s). Keep us posted!

I have noticed that she has gained weight in the short time I've had her. Her tail stub looks fatter and much healthier... it has even grown a bit. I'm dusting her crickets about 2x a week with the cal/D3 powder and once a week with a vit powder. I don't know much about gecko poo but she seems to be pooing fine... seems to be fairly firm with a white sack. She's up to 3 crickets in the morning and another two at night. Think she is ready for wax worms?

I'll try to get pics later today.

I say let her eat! :yesnod:
You could replace the evening crix w/a waxworm or 2. wouldn't give her more than that tho. They are very fatty, and only to be used as treat. Or, in your case, to help put weight on an underweight leo. Sounds like she's doing great! Good job!:yesnod:
