I have multiple proven pairs of Red Marble Ancistrus. They are healthy, vibrant, and great producers. I get a clutch of eggs every two weeks from these guys and I don't feed them anything other than a variety of flake foods. Both partners have a very bright orange/red color to their lighter regions, and the males are great fathers. They will raise the eggs to the point of independence if you let Them. They have just entered their breeding prime, but they are only a year or so old and thus still have quite a few years of production ahead of them.
A well kept and well fed pair can produce as many as 80 babies a month, which can easily be sold for $5 each when they reach sell-able size (1.5-2 inches). This particular color morph of Bristlenose Pleco is also the most vibrantly colored form, and is considered especially desirable to the normal, brown or albino varieties.
Bristlenose Plecos are terrific algae eaters, and a mature pair like this can live comfortably in a tank as small as 10 gallons, or can successfully eradicate algae in a tank as large as 150 gallons. You will be amazed at their ability to keep the glass clear.
