Lineage provided by Seth from Buddy Young:
History of the Peters Type B: This line of pure Colombian boas are a product of the hard work Jim Peters put into selectively breeding these boas to enhance and develop the color pallet that Mother Nature had so eloquently provided us. With their trademark aberrant saddles, rich coloration and vibrant tails, it’s anticipated they rival any boa in the hobby, and provenance to make them a must have for any serious locality collector.
These Boas came into the country in 1974 and were collected in the Rio Magdalena Valley in Colombia before being exported from Barranquilla to the states. In this area the Andes diminish and allow contact between Boa Constrictor and Boa Imperator. Not only do they display attributes of both I believe they bring to the table the best each has to offer. Scale counts provided by Buddy for his breeding stock are as follows : 88/91 mid-body: 248/250 ventral and 59/60 subcaudal. Those numbers put these Peters Type B within the range of constrictor.

Buddy was seeing what He believed to be genetic depression within his pure type b breedings. About 10 years ago he started producing what he called the honey b. This is what a 50% type b and 50% Rio bravo Barranquilla. The purpose of this project was to introduce new blood to the type b. The mother of these babies was a honey b. The father was a lone survivor of one of Buddy’s last pure type b litters. That makes these babies 75% type b. But absolutely pure Colombian Boa imperator.
Summary: 100% PURE Colombian Boa imperator that was outcrossed to infuse a different line of Colombian Boa to the line originating with the Barranquillas moniker.
Price: $1,500/Pair (Firm) and will not split the pair. These are rare, genetically sourced and were holdbacks to boot. Truth be told, I’m probably pricing them a bit low given their age, availability and phenotype.
Payment plans of 60 days or less are welcome. $150 nonrefundable deposit is required.
By purchasing, you are agreeing to my terms on my website. Sales are final but live arrival is guaranteed if shipped hub to hub.
Feeding in anything: I rotate between, rats and mice (F/T) and even fed them as a trial Tilapia that was frozen for food consumption. They took it no problem!
Demeanor: Very docile but with a strong feed response.
