    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

How many if any have had a 1200+ gram GTP female lay less then 6 eggs? Just curious because my female laid 6 this morning and I was expecting more since she was so big. Could she be partially egg bound?

Thoughts?
 
I haven't had any small clutches like that.... yet..... are you sure she's finished laying? My girls have always chosen the early am hours to lay thier eggs here and usually finishing up around mid morning.

I'd leave her alone for a bit and see if she doesn't drop some more eggs for you.

I'm pretty new at breeding too though so can't really offer too much help, but congrats on the clutch!!!
 
The smallest clutch I've had was 11 eggs but I have heard of smaller ones like yours..What I would do is give her 24 hours or so to see if she has any more in her. If nothing happens by then I'd take her in and have a sonogram done to make sure there are not any more..Good luck and keep us posted..Randy
 
* Update *

Well three more eggs dropped, so thats nine now total. Still seems small but we will see... She is still acting weird like she was before she laid the first eggs. Here is a picture of the eggs so far, looks like seven good ones and two duds.

This is what I mean when I say "still acting weird", she never used the egg box, she laid the other eggs on the floor and left them to perch. Now she is kinda laying around stretched out and restless.

If she hasn't laid any more egss I'd take her in take a look see.. These guys like to drive us crazy and spend our money ...Randy
 
LOL, they defiantly do.. She has an appointment with Dr. Stahl (vet) on Sat. Today is day 18 after pre lay shed so hopefully she can hold on till then. They told me to remove the perch in the meantime.

* Update *

I got her an earlier appointment this morning for an xray and she has two eggs still in her, the vet is going to keep her overnight and try to massage the last two eggs out. $400.00 for all the treatment, anaesthesia and antibiotics!

Dang, that's a bummer!! Glad you were able to get her in though and it's nice to know she's in good hands! Best wishes for a quick recovery with her!! Keep us posted!
 
Wow, well at least you know,,, like I said they love to spend our money. Keep us posted on how her and the eggs are doing.. Randy
 
My big Lemon Tree female only laid 9 eggs this year I took her to Scott to make sure also. Since when does Scott work on Saturdays???? He told me years ago he was done doing that!!!
