Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

question about digging

hi,
im new here and im a first time breeder. i was just curious as to how long they will start digging around before they will actually lay, because i woke up this morning and my pregant leo had dug some of her vermiculite out of her hide. sorry if this is a repeated post i tried looking for some info here but had no luck.

anywhere from 48+ hours to only a few hours....However, I've had several of my geckos dig just for fun, and then I get excited yet they end up not being gravid. :slamit:
 
Yeah Ive had some dig for 1-2 days too and some that I know aren't gravid dig for the heck of it lol

If you are sure she is gravid Id check on her every 3 hours or so, if she is in a see threw bin you can just wait until you see her cover up the hole she dug or push all the dirt to one end and leave the box, that usually means they are done.

But I have had a couple of girls dig for a day then cover the hole, leave the box an not lay the eggs til the next day and they dig a new spot lol

Just keep an eye on her and try to not disturb her if possible, when she leaves the box she should be done :)
 
I've even got a male who digs (all his substrate out of the hide hide). His entrance hole is now on top!
