    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Ok, my snake has been in its water the hole day today. I was wondering if anyone knew what this means. Like if they do this before shedding, having babies. I haven't had a boa do this yet. And I dont know if this girl was with a male before I got her.

have you checked the temps? is so what are they? on both the warm side and the cool side. also what kind of boas is this?
and lastly have you checked to see if the animal has mites? animals with mites willo soak in their water dish to try and get some releif from the irritation.

I bought a python today for the first time and I wasn't told the sex of the snake. How can you tell? I have never owned a snake before.

The only truly accurate way of sexing snakes is by probing the cloaca...this should not be done by someone who doesn't know how, a mistake can injure the snake. Take it to a reptile vet, they might be able to help you, or if you're lucky someone in a pet store might be able to (doubtful).

Most boas do this before shed, as a matter of fact almost all snakes that have a big enough water dish do this before shed most of the time i wouldnt be worried.

if your animals are given and have all the proper husbandy requirments met for that particular animal, their should be no reason the animal would lay in its water bowl, unless the proper requirments arent being met or unless its has some sort of external parasite

Shedding is a basic knowledge in snakes, if you do not know what is happening, you shouldnt be involved with snakes.

Give the person a break, at least they're asking NOW. Given the number of snake owners who reaaaally don't give a crap, I think it's nitpicky and bad for the hobby to turn people away for trying to learn about their animals after the purcahse. Next time this person has a problem, maybe they won't ask the mean people on the internet forum. Maybe they won't ask anyone. This isn't helping the animal, and it might make the animal suffer unnecessarily. It doesn't matter if you think they have any business having a snake. They HAVE a snake, and we can choose to help the animal or not.
Of course we would like to encourage people to learn about their animals before they buy them, but if the person already has the animal, we should just try to help them as much as possible so that another snake doesn't end up miserable or homeless.

PS to the owner: check your snake very carefully for tiny bugs. Also make sure your cage isn't too hot. Also, what kind of python is it?

Hey hognose, Yeah I was right she is shedding but I hadnt had my other snakes do that before or at least noticed it. So why dont you take the cock out of your ass and suck on it fag. I think its so gay when someone asks a question and people answer with dumb ass comments and dont try to help. Makes people not even want to ask ya know.
