In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Okay so I've had my BP Farley for around a year I think and he is currently a little over 31 inches. My question is about his size. I see so many pictures of ball pythons shorter than him that are WAY thicker and I'm wondering if he is under weight. I don't have a scale to weigh him or I would post his current weight.

I'm feeding him 2 f/t adult mice every 10 days to 2 weeks. I'm thinking maybe I should go bigger? What would ya'll recommend and how often?

Thanks,

Mark

Just wanted to add that he is thicker than he looks in the picture.. Also he seems very healthy. Actively flicks his tongue and his eyes, mouth, etc are clean and clear.

mark he looks like a happy snake..he seemd to be a good thickness, usually a ball at 2 1/2 ft should be on small to med rats every 7-10 days in my opinion.but see what other member have to say.hope this helps.

He looks good to me. Long and lean. Healthy fellow. A lot of the snakes you see online are....well.....I hate to say it because mine are too....well they are just FAT. Sometimes we do that on purpose~ we feed up for breeding. Sometimes we get lazy and don't pay attention and wind up feeding too much. Your BP looks great. Long and lean. No ribs showing and you can see his muscle tone. Good job. If you'd like him bigger, or you want to cut your feed costs you can feed him rats up to 1 1/2 times the thickest point in his body. But.......if he's not for breeding and your not anticipating him going months and months unfed......well....I wouldn't go that big or I'd feed a lot less often if you do. He looks great and is growing fine. In MY opinion for what thats worth

He looks great=) My Ball Python is 3 1/2 feet and he is taking medium rats every 7-10 days, though i go towards the 10 day mark when i feed him again.

Thanks for the comments.

I was just a little worried since some of the BP's I see are half his length and 3x as big around. I know that part of that is cause people like em that way and they sell better but it was such a big difference I figured it worth an ask.

Thanks again,

Mark

Hey Mark. I'll throw my 2 cents in there, but I'm basically just reiterating what has already been said. It looks like you have a nice, healthy BP there. I try to feed all of mine rats, too, but only because I want them to have a healthy fat-reserves for breeding (and the hunger strike that goes with it). If I were only keeping a couple as pets, I'd keep them about the same size as Farley. Enjoy him!
