Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi, im new here and i have a question,
What is the "Rep Power" everyone has?
As long as im asking a question, i figured id also say something about my geckos. I have 6 in total (soon 8 hopefully) i have 5 girls and one very happy boy, lol. The boy, named Tang, is an absolutely gorgeous Hypo Tangerine that i bought from Bob Vargo (for those of you who have heard of him, hes a great breeder). The girls are 2 Albinos (Al and Tammy), a leucistic (Leuci), and two normals (Leo and Velma). And as of April 24, I have 2 eggs in t he incubator from Tammy, hopefully the babies will be as gorgeous as their parents (I'm incubating them to b males). I also have 2 armadillo lizards. Well, thanks for looking and this looks like a great forum.
 
Rep power...okay you get rep POINTS for posting good helpful threads. You can award them to people by clicking on that little icon beside the warning icon that looks like a scale. Once you have 100 posts you will start acquiring rep POWER.
 
Welcome to the forums.

Rep power is the number of rep points you can give someone or half the number you can take from someone. Everyone starts off with 10 rep points. Your rep power points come with every 100 posts you make, every 6 months you have been here and every 100 rep points you receive from others.

They are a way for you to acknowledge the post that someone (or for someone to acknowledge a post you) made was well said, helpful, informative, funny, (or on the negative side) uncalled for, rude or untrue.

Also, you can only give or take rep points when you have a rep power (the number next to the green circle). That number will not show up until you have made 100 posts. You can still use them the same way until then but you will not be able to give or take points until you have made your 100th post.

Well.....that's not ALWAYS true :) .....I'm pretty new here, and although I'm still learning all the time (aren't we all?) I do know SOME stuff. LOL. I think you have to be helpful and know "stuff" to have others give you the points to begin with.....either that, or make a whole heck of a lot of posts about nothing. :hehe: Just saying....just because a person is new, don't count them out!!

Although when someone's points are "in the red", that's pretty telling too..... :>poke2<:
 
yes and cat has only 88 posts and a load of rep power.... i think i just talk too much and i been here awhile so i got a few.... cat 12 posts away, mike only 39 for you and ron 24 more for you!!!
tang and snakewrangle you got a ways to go but it adds up quick as you post!!

and well david he is a permanent fixture here LOL
