When I post in the snake classifieds, how do I get the picture of the snake to the left of my post thread?

Responding to email notices you receive.

In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Attach the picture to the post as an attachment, rather than hotlinking inside the post.
Or do you mean an avatar? You can add a picture there through your User CP.

If you are talking about the thumbnail image that shows up in the classifieds listings, that is the first attached image in the ad. You can still use photobucket (or whichever service you like) to host your photos, but they won't be picked up in that field.
