    In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

    Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

    Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

    Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

    =====================

    Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

I've heard that jungle corns and mixing a king snake and milk snake is possible.. What is the public opinion on that?
I've seen a milk snake x California king before for sale and it looked awesome, but I also heard that they are controversial..

I've considered making some on my own, eventually, but I wanted to see if I would get like a ton of backlash or if people would be like "yeah they are awesome!"

You're going to get both. Some people really hate integrates and some people really like them. The issue with breeding them is more people don't like them than do so be prepared to sit on them for a while before they will sell.

My opinion is that hybridizing indicates a failure to grasp most of what is interesting about keeping herps.

Say a person keeps a Pueblan milksnake. They might be motivated to learn about Puebla, MX, and the habitat, collection history, and natural behaviors of their captive. They might learn that Mexico no longer allows herp exports and that all the Pueblan milks that are in captivity are all we have. They might learn about the recent taxonomic change that eliminated the subspecies Lampropeltis triangulum campbelli and moved it into Lampropeltis polyzona along with five other subspecies. They might learn about the herpetologist Jonathan Campbell, for whom it was named.

Now cross that with a California king, and you have a batch of novelty animals with no history, no natural behaviors, and no link to the world outside of captivity. Awesome? Maybe to someone who doesn't care much about biology, or history, or expanding their knowledge in general. Might as well win a rubber snake at the county fair.

You will get mixed reviews from people. Some people are purists and believe snakes should not be hybridized. Some people argue that hybridizing is simply speeding up evolution. Do yourself a favor and if this is something you really want to consider, join the Facebook group Hybrid by Design. Good people and even though I have not created any hybrids, I have learned a ton about the process. These guys will share pros vs cons of hybridization and you won’t be judged for asking questions. I feel that every breeder has the right to do what they want with their stock, just keep good records and be honest with any customers! Have a great day!

All it takes is one keeper having one moment of weakness and hybrids can forever infect any captive bred lines. Is anything you produce worth that? To you AND those people's whose opinion you hold in esteem?
