In short, DON'T! Email notices are to ONLY alert you of a reply to your private message or your ad on this site. Replying to the email just wastes your time as it goes NOWHERE, and probably pisses off the person you thought you replied to when they think you just ignored them. So instead of complaining to me about your messages not being replied to from this site via email, please READ that email notice that plainly states what you need to do in order to reply to who you are trying to converse with.

Yeah, I know. They are a pain in the butt. But they pay the bills to keep my server running. Just a fact of life, I am afraid.

Want to get rid of them? Simple. Just become a Contributor level member or above and they will be gone. -> Please click HERE."

Is that too much for me to ask of you to keep this site running? Well, sorry about that. I too wish I could get everything for free. But alas.....

Google Adsense ad revenue for December, 2025 was just $30 over the cost of the lease for the server running this site. So, in effect, the money providing the incentive for me to continue running this site is coming SOLELY from the paid memberships and sponsorships here. Which honestly ain't much....

Hi,

It's been a long time since I have posted, I'm sorry for that! I have been really busy with work and renovating my house.

Ok, so here's my question for all you experienced herpers out there:

At what difference in weight is it safe to house two female cresties together?

I have two females that are 15g and 21g. I would be housing them in an 18" X 18" X 24" exoterra (one of those nice new tanks, I just purchased my second one on sale).

I am thinking that they should be closer in weight, maybe only a gram or two apart, but perhaps I am over estimating it. Obviously if I ever put any cresteds in the same tank I would monitor them for signs of stress, and separate them if I see anything unhealthy.

Thanks for your input. These are girls that I'm growing up for next season, and I thought they might be able to share this tank that's bigger than what they were in previously.

I look forward to any responses!

15 and 21 grams should be fine. Females together are almost always fine together. I would just make sure that they are both eating as the bigger one might take alot of the food!!

Thanks Erik

yes, and keep a very close eye that they're both eating...agreed

I've got a few colonies of sub-adult females and it sounds like you should be fine. Keep an eye on the smaller one and make sure that you don't see any bite marks on her and that she isn't losing weight. Good luck! :)

Thank you everyone! I weigh each of my geckos every 2-3 days, so I should be able to keep track of how things are going just fine. The bigger of the two is the more calm, she will just sit on your shoulder and hang out (that's Harli). Mahlla (the smaller one), is the opposite! The runs and jumps all over the place as soon as I take off the lid! Mahlla scares me sometimes, because I swear one day she will escape, or do herself some damage! I take out Mahlla every other night for about 5-10 minutes, just hoping that she might get used to me!

Thanks again for the advice! I'll keep you all updated on them!
