Hello, I have just found out that I may have an australian turquoise parrot (grass parakeet) which is considered a threatened bird. A friend gave it to me as it was found outdoors as a hatchling and dropped off at the vet where she worked. I have had it about 2 years but based on pics and discussions from another bird forum I believe it is this threatened species. Does anyone know or recommend who I can get in touch with about positively identifying it and possibly getting it into a breeding program or something? I have not heard back from the local avian vet I contacted. Thanks. email me at [email protected]
